Wonder what Ruston's hero Karl Malone thinks of all this?

He built a USA Travel Center Exxon/ Cajun Bar and Grill three exits east on I-20 3 to 4 years ago.

Nope. Not his

Imagine being the owner of a gas station at that or the next exit and paying all your taxes. Might as well close up shop the day Buc-ees opens.

Oh you mean the ones ran by immigrants from India who nickel and dime customers? Screw them. Take your BS business model elsewhere.

Buc-ee’s can afford to run at even lowe margins because of the subsidized nature of their location. That’s absolutely killer to competitors.

I was talking to the guy at the Chevron in Leeds right across from the Buccees and he said business had actually gone up some because of the runoff from people who decide not to mess with the Buccess crowd.

This was shortly after it opened, no sure if that lasted. I thought it was interesting and made some sense.

He also confirmed that use of their bathrooms had dropped considerably.

The Costco will be on the east side of Ruston.

A rising tide lifts all boats. Business owners in Ruston are fired up for Bucee’s - they’ll benefit from all the traffic….including other gas stations.

You’ll see current convenience stores and gas stations sprucing up and preparing for the Ruston I20 exits to be a major stopping point for thousands of drivers a day.
