2 or 3 items or features that you believe a new home should have today?

Rules:

1. Within reason, i.e. no OT baller-type status home.
2. Can be "luxury," i.e. but necessarily a necessity item - and must not be OT baller-type cost.
3. What you would want if you were building or renovating a house today.

For example, if I were building a house today, I would like the following:

Double island kitchen

"Wood" Tile

Lutron's Smart Shades

I never thought or had seen a double island kitchen ... until I watched Fixer Upper the other day. I liked it. Not sure if it is necessarily the most "functional" but in the house they showed, it worked.

Truthfully, should be standard for a family of 4.

But it never will be.

I agree.

Speaking of which, does Cat 5e or Cat 6 take the place of the coax cable?

If you were building a new house, is RG-6 even necessary anymore? Is it going the way of the phone line?

I like the wood tile. What's the point of a double island?

I would say rainfall shower

A large sink close to the dishwasher. And an additional smaller sink in the island. 2 sinks.

"mud room" with storage for kids and wife's bill paying desk between garage and kitchen.

My house is a sea of paperwork, backpacks and shoes. Ugh.
