I entered this thread to post a funny Blues Brother police car crash scene gif, then I saw it was a police vehicle hit troopers retrieving spikes (pedestrians basically). One still critical.
I saw the FB and was going to post something funny about white trash. But then I saw she has kids and has liked several FB pages of addiction recovery and recovery centers.
So nothing funny. I hope this will be a wake up call for her, to do something now for her children.

Sucks for the injured troopers, but not surprised. LEO's get a hardon when they get to turn their lights on and drive fast.

Maybe someone can share some information as to why this happens, but why do so many cops jump in, in a car chase. For safety reasons it seems like they would have a max of how many police cars should chase someone.. And I am thinking like.. Maybe 2 cars.
One day I was at my brother's. he lives off of hwy 1. We were outside and all of a sudden we saw a motorcycle flying.. Going south.. They had West BR sheriffs deputies, the city of port allen deputies, Brusly deputies, Addis deputies, Iberville parish deputies and city of plaquemine deputies chasing him. 6 different departments, several of them with more than one cop car.
We found out later the dude got away somewhere in Donaldsonville. But the more cars involved, I would think the better chance of an accident.. Does anyone know why so many cars are needed to chase someone?

Back when they used tapes for in-car recordings, the cops could not find the recording for a particular arrest. Turned out the officer who was driving took the tape home. He and his buddies would drink beer and watch his car chases.

Typically you want 2 maybe 3 cars actively in the pursuit then a couple staying close to act as backup and traffic control once the pursuit is ended and you are effecting the arrest.

This hasn’t been updated much so I figured I’d post some outlets which can help if you are so inclined.
Tpr. Baker is a former Marine (OEF/OIF ver) with a wife and a young daughter.
Here is a link for monetary donations via the LA Troopers Charities
LINK
It’s a Facebook link but has information for blood drives. There are several in the Baton Rouge, Mandeville, and New Orleans area. If you don’t live close to those you can go to any Blood Center and make a donation in his name.
LINK
Or just prayers/thoughts for the family.
Thanks.

I was going to make a thread because I didn't know the news had even made it here. May still make one with the donation information.

As they should. Their decision to run from the police led to injuries to other people.
It takes two to tango, and why do we have all this advanced surveillance the police keep putting in if they can't back off and grab them coming out of a Spenser's Gifts?

Surprised that didn't happen with the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's officers Friday night.

Yeah I thought about a separate page since this one got a little convoluted.
