I was at my lake camp sitting by the bank drinking a beer and saw the straight-line storm coming for an 1/2 hour and when it hit was blowing way past 50mph. Thing about straight-line storms there is no going around em.

See this video, the only smart one in the boat was the dog. He wanted to get the frick out of there.

Looked like he dropped his rod/reel in the water when he was putting his rain gear on , then said F$%K that rod

That's crazy, glad they were in an open area and made it

Forget the rain gear, get away from the storm.

I'd imagine that rain felt like needles.

Water would have slowed the wind speed down well below f3 level.

ETA: No way those winds were anywhere close to F3 - which means over 158 mph.

What's the point of a boat that'll do 90+ mph if you're just going to sit in the storm?

I'm glad they survived. Living through that earns them baw status.

Only if they caught a few more afterwards.

Why didn’t they just start the motor and drive the bot away from the tornado?

You ain’t a baw unless you ride out a tornado in your bass boat

What happened at Texhoma? Never was a blip on okc news.

Two brothers in their 70s were going south through the train bridge by Alberta Creek. They side swiped one of the pilings going through and we're ejected. I think it was getting towards evening and the winds were blowing. I'm pretty sure both died. The main span of the bridge is all the way to the east side, so a lot of people just go through the narrower middle spans as a "shortcut"

Another guy/dead missing at the north end of the Washita River Arm by Newberry Creek. Found the boat and the dog, but no person. He was out throwing jug lines.

Being in Oklahoma, I'm constantly in those areas versus the Texas side by the islands and Red River Arm. I'm friends with a few full time striper guides that really assisted quite a bit with search and recovery.

Very little of our news ever makes it to OKC. Any stories would be on KXII or KTEN out of Sherman/Denison.

And btw why were they filming?

Probably a GoPro on the light pole. Lots of folks do that these days in hopes of being a YouTube star.
