Wear your best Dale Earnhardt “Intimidator” airbrushed t shirt. You want to make sure you blend in.

If you haven't booked accomodations and are staying outside of the city, stay on the Italian side - way less crowded than Nice.

If you're staying in Nice and leaving the race at peak times, take the train towards Italy then hop over to the other direction there to get back to Nice - faster than waiting in Monaco at the Nice platform.

Skip qualifying. The race is where the real action is at.

Not in Monaco where there are very few overtakes outside the first lap. Quali essentially determines the race.

Take a helicopter to the event. Traffic is terrible from the airport.

Get to the "track" early, the crowds can be a PITA and it is not set up like a normal permanent track. BRING CASH you will need it and it is often hard to in Monaco on race day. Bring food and hydration. You used to be able to bring coolers, but read the current rules carefully. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that match the weather forecast. It is easy to get caught up in dressing up since you will be surrounded by immense wealth, but it can be a long day and the toll adds up over a weekend. It was worse back in the days of Thursday practice if you hung out in the city on Fridays.

ETA it is kinda cool you are going to the principality for your first F1 race, you are the first US based person I have ever heard of that started there first!

Ask them why they aren’t allowed to throw things onto the track while racing and then ask how they feel about being a second rate racing experience to Mario Kart.

Happened by chance. Our friends invited us on a vacation to Sardinia and it just happed to work out that way. Also, this is where we wanted to go for our first race, so it worked out all the way round!!

My wife and I are going as well. It will be our first F1 race. We are staying on the Explora 1 cruise ship in the harbor. Should be a fun trip.
