I have asked them. A lot of them were better off. It wasn't nearly as bad as your teacher would have you believe.
We could've desegregated incrementally, rationally and peacefully. Instead of painting it as pure victim versus oppressor and using the barrel of a gun to ruin communities and schools, stigmatizing all southern whites in a ridiculous abjectly failed social experiment that continues to this day

That's simply impossible to believe. I don't believe those stats. The FBI gets their numbers from local police, and in many cities local police aren't honest about their crime rates. We all know NOPD skews stats.

Haha, this anecdotal and biased assertion isn't going to get very far.
You can debate about methods for segregation, but it's absurd to talk about our moral fiber during an era where many of us treated our neighbors like animals.

Uh, it's not made up bullshite that blacks were treated as second class citizens in the 50s.
And I didn't ask you for anything. I said "ask black people" and you came back with some obviously absurd narrative about how they told you it's worse now.
We can argue about whether the dependent state of black America now is worse than the truly oppressed state of black America then, but until you acknowledge that the latter even happened it's kind of pointless.
