I still go to work and the grocery, but I haven't been to a gathering of people since March. Not b/c I'm worried about me getting sick, but my elderly parents, etc.

I live in Dallas...I know someone who knows this family. This isn't a hoax. Granted the younger members are fine, but the parents are hospitalized

That nephew is the one who was unknowingly infected, thinking a slight cough was the byproduct of working in construction.

So, he had a cough and still went to the party, and some of the most at-risk people for this virus attended the party.

Pretty easy to prevent what happened, and all the younger people are perfectly fine.

The cancer lady sat on the front porch socially distanced, but I agree. I'd have stayed home. The elderly mom only dropped something off and left

Also, why would you go to the news with this? Just to see how many people you can get to hate your family members?

Two takeaways

1: Really old people and immunocompromised people shouldn’t be going out and about. That’s on them if they choose to go to parties and restaurants.

2: Don’t go to a fricking party or bar or restaurant if you have a goddamn cough. Even if it’s nothing, that’s like the one way for it to spread really badly. This one a-hole thought his cough was nothing so he went around coughing on everyone at the party. Just take precautions if you’re noticeably having a consistent cough

I am beginning to believe asymptomatic spread means has symptoms but ignores them.

This is why we are handling this like jackasses

When you tell everyone to shelter at home, when you force everyone to stop their lives, even the young and vibrant, you get this

People cant take it, and people wont listen. Its an absolute disgrace the message wasnt simply "protect the old and vulnerable." You do this instead, and you still allow life and the world to go on, you get far better compliance

They lowered their chances, but showing up at all they knew there was risk. Don't want risk, don't go.

Dont want to get in a csr wreck, don't get in a car. Its very very simple.
