Of course the Twitter algorithm has "He could just used a taser." line as the top reply.
I mean he could have. but wed probably have an alive knife assailant and a stab victim alive or dead. i cant blame him for rescuing child from a stabbing

They shouldn't be but it feels like after every shooting lately, someone is getting some type of settlement after a thug is killed.

Has LeBron released a statement yet?

Even if this girl was "defending herself." There was no longer a need to keep attacking. She was going at another woman with a knife.. to potentially her neck.
So did her life not matter? The cop saw a woman in danger, regardless of who started it, and saved her. Period.

No, it isn’t. He entirely justified in using deadly force to prevent great bodily harm and or death to another individual

Just read that the girl that had the knife was defending herself, was on her property, and was the one that called the police.

So true. If someone comes on your property you get to knife them in front of a cop, no questions asked.

I am so glad I wait until the facts and evidence come out before making any judgments.
Prior to the bodycam release, all of twitter was acting like cops just showed up and started blasting people.
They claim the girl was being jumped and simply pulled a knife to defend herself.
Well there were 2 people engaged on the ground. And then woman got up and attacked another.
The girl they shot had a ton of distance between her and the girl she was attacking. There was no need to go at her with a knife like that. At least no longer a need.
In fact, the woman she attacked appeared calm and talking to the police at that point.
If I had been jumped and police showed up I think I would be heading their direction to point out the attackers. This girl looked like she was about to murder the other girl right in front of them.
Are they suppose to just let her stab her?

This is about as clean of a police shooting as you will ever get, and it's frankly remarkable that the police officer reacted as well as he did. That took some skill to figure out what was going on in that chaos, who had a weapon, who was attacking whom, and then a clean, quick shot to protect another life that hit dead on target.
I feel sorry for the girl and her family, especially as it sounds like she was failed by adults in her life almost every step of the way. But case closed.

Sums it up pretty well.

Not to be insensitive. But that officer likely saved a life by taking hers.

China and India are obviously the only two countries with over a billion people.
Well India security forces killed 1700ish last year.. 600 more than the US.. China reported 1... GTFO if you believe one the word of one of the worst human rights violating countries in the world..

Congrats on cherrypicking shithole countries to justify your attempt at a gotcha statement.. Just completely ignore places like Venezuela, Brazil and the Philippines.
For instance, Brazil roughly the same population as the US had 5800 officer/security killings.. You just simply choose data that supported your point and its a really disingenuous way of going about it..
All that being said.. Its tragic the young girl lost her life, but this is a justified shoot plain and simple.

The current party line is that “we shouldn’t share the video cause it’s too traumatic to watch for people” when in reality it’s cause it kills their narrative.

Another quick thing that bothers me is the witnesses in the videos acted like the police just showed up and started blasting.
However, when the police got out they did not have their weapons drawn. At least not from what I can tell.
It wasn't until more engaging took place that they then pulled their weapons. Maybe I'm wrong though.
I really hope they don't lose their jobs over this, because they were outstanding.

I kind of wish they would have released the video tomorrow morning so we would have had a much bigger pool of horrible media and social media takes to make fun of.

The cop who shot the girl didn't pull until he saw the knife and the charging.
His first act was to look at the adult man trying to kick the young girl on the grass to try to figure out what was going on there, but he kept scanning and saw the other girl with a large blade in her hand charging full speed at the girl in pink. That's when he pulled and then made his decision to shoot. It is textbook.

Exactly, that's why I always reserve my opinion until I see the entire scenario unfold. Especially in the officer involved shootings.. The outrage starts immediately and people knee-jerk react without knowing the facts b/c we typically get cellphone vids first and those are normally damning without all the context. Technology is a blessing and a curse..
