I am kind of being serious here....as adults are most women not good at those things? I don't have many female friends but I assume most people by the age of 30 have mastered those things, no?

Herein lies the dilemma. Many men do hold their value longer in terms of looks, finances, social status, and power. After we have married, got the kids out of the house, and divorced - we start looking at defining our lives. It's really not hard to attract a female ten to 20 years younger, and given that we do like our toys, it is nice to wake up with a trophy girl in their bed from time to time. The freedom to be yourself is quite alluring to girls.
For many females, the warranty is shorter, and they seem to go into denial about it. Once it runs out, their options get very limited unless they have something substantial to bring to the table. Unfortunately, when the warranty starts to expire or has actually expired, they panic and you start seeing stuff like the "so-called reasons for being single" posted earlier in this thread.
The last couple of dates I ran into totally misrepresented themselves in terms of age, education, weight, etc. Consequently, I gave up on the on-line dating sites and reverted back to a more traditional way of meeting eligible women. Works a lot better for those of us who are older. Makes things a lot easier to screen, and cull those who are simply trying to get a free meal for nothing in return, not to mention those who are less than honest about themselves and will say anything to "attach" themselves to a mealticket .... errr ......man.

Heard that line one time. The girl was approximately 150 pounds heavier than her pics showed. I shouldn't have, but I played nice and went through the date anyway. Only problem was after the first bottle of wine, I could still see her and hear her. Consequently, I ordered another fifth just for myself. Second one didn't do it either. However, still had to drive and could drink cheaper by myself at home. I am not sure how I could have handled her at her worst. She was 150 lbs overweight, older, and only talked about her sorry family the whole time.
One other thing .... this word "deserve" .... it works both ways. Can't stand those who feel like they are entitled, yet haven't earned it, and/or think that just because they have a vagina, men will fall over themselves to get to them - failing to understand that the rest of the flesh (and brain) attached to that vagina needs to offer something as well.

To be fair, that's hardly limited to religious women. A lot of women try to change the wrong guy instead of finding the right guy.

Most women subconsciously desire the man to take care of those things. It's nature. They want to be led. Consequently, they aren't good at them.

A more accurate statement would have been that I don't have many friends. I spend most time with my family or at work. I relocated as an adult far from home and I don't discuss finances with colleagues. I am just curious about this male vs. female take on finances. I have always been very good with money. I assume that most people have the sense to take care of their finances they just choose to be irresponsible regardless of vaginas...
