Time is running out for the mystery winner of the $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot announced last October to come forward. Whoever won the second largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history has until 5 p.m. on April 19 to walk into the South Carolina Lottery office in Columbia with the signed ticket and claim the jackpot.

Time is running out

It’ll never be claimed. I have a theory this whole thing was rigged.

Local rumor had a young guy winning the prize. But why would he wait?

I think it goes unclaimed for whatever reason.

There’s absolutely no reason to wait this long. Maybe a month or two to get your ducks in a row but by now? No idea.

Who would want to spend all that time NOT being a billionaire.

I would be terrified everyday that I would die, the ticket would be lost, the building it’s in would burn, or flood, or earthquake.

Prize will never be claimed. Probably accidentally discarded, but I’ve always wondered if the winner might have checked ticket against the wrong numbers. Just as Louisiana does, South Carolina offers Mega Millions and Powerball. Both have five numbers with a specialty 6th number. Although winning numbers aren’t drawn on the same nights of the week, I’ve always wondered if the winner (who may not have been a routine player of the game) might have checked ticket using Powerball winning numbers and discarded a winning Mega Millions ticket.

Atleast 50% of ticket should be thrown back into the pot but alas the the rules call for those frickers to keep it which brings suspicion

There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago and someone mentioned in that thread that a 24 year old worker at some factory in South Carolina walked out of the lunch room having looked at his ticket and said, "I'm a Billionaire and walked off the job." However, seems a little strange that he would wait this long to claim a prize that surely by now he would have all his proverbial ducks in a row. BTW, in that thread there was also made mention of a 1 million dollar unclaimed prize that had only 4 days left to come forward in New Orleans. Has anybody heard whether that winner ever came forward?

Some woke dude saw he won, wiped his arse with the ticket, and killed himself. Out on a high note.

Could you imagine finding the ticket the day after it's expired?

A better way to end high note is buying a mountain of cocaine.

It was me. I threw the ticket away because I didn't want the money to change me. Also, I was in South Carolina for one night.
