Since lotto tickets are all date time stamped it seems like by using this information and the store security video recordings (assuming it exists) one could get an idea of who may have been the person that bought the winning ticket.

Why would the lottery do that though? I know I wouldn’t be wasting time and money to figure out a way to make a 1.5 billion dollar liability come to fruition.

I always thought they'd could figure it out this way. Or at least narrow it down to a handful of lotto ticket buyers

Does the retailer that sold the ticket get a percentage even if the ticket is not redeemed?
I doubt it. If I we're the retailer I would be looking at the video ( if any! ) and doing my own looking.

At this point, lost ticket, no knowledge that you won. Plenty of time to setup a trust, hire an attorney, and collect anonymously.

Yup I know a few guys at ZF Transmission and it was a young guy there. Supposedly he was waiting for the new year but I have no idea why he still hasn't claimed it
