When interviewed over this, Governor Landry responded that his personal favorite flower was Gold Medal.

Thanks Jeff.

Now work on eliminating the stupid requirement to obtain a "gaming license" for a not for profit organization to hold a raffle.

Some great puns in here

Bit it always amazed me you needed a license to sell floral arrangements, but no license needed to take someone’s financial info and SSN and prepare a tax return for pay

When we make fun of states not allowing people to pump their own gas remember this existed here

Are flowers cheaper now? Serious question, I have no idea.

Since the state scrapped licensing, I’m sure florists immediately passed those savings on to customers. Just like every other industry that survives on illness, death, and overpriced romance would.

I remember years ago to road signs at every state line that said “ Welcome to Louisiana… the only state that doesn’t license Chiropractors.”

No wonder some attorneys also offer chiropractic services in the same office.

Sounds like it was all rooted in greed.

This isn't true at all - last weekend I hosted a party for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Several bouquet of yellow roses were dropped off and before the event a rogue strand of poison ivy that was placed in the bouquet by an unlicensed florist by accident exited the bouquet, waited in the shadows, then began stealing the wallets of the patrons while they ate. This all could have been avoided had we instead opted for federal licensing, not just state.

It's wild that you needed a license to be a florist, but anyone can be the controller for a company and handle millions of dollars without any official reporting ethics board (CPA not needed to be a controller)

What kind of test / questions was needed to get a license? Can't be experience level as it was illegal to "practice" without said license. But, then, again, a UNION to regulate decorating flowers??? If Hoffa was still alive, he'd make multi more millions here in La.
