No rain in sight and hot AF. When do the burn bans begin?

We will get some of those afternoon summertime showers that don’t last long. Don’t worry about the forecast, it’s not accurate

Burn bans have already started up here....which of course will trigger any and all redneck trash to cut limbs and create a burn pile ASAP for some reason

It's going to rain today, tomorrow, and probably Tuesday. But, yeah, we will have a week or so of very hot weather after that.
Looks like we might have a "cold" front around the 24th, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that. Even if it comes through, the highs will probably be 90 instead of 97 for one or two days.
We still have at least one more month before a real cold front comes through.

Within the past week, I got two days of rain. One with 1” and the other with 1.5”. That should get me through 10 days or so.

Only two more dogs days of summer are left. Tuesday is the last day the dog star rises with the sun.

You must be Tallahassee adjacent. The rest of the state is getting an almost daily rain hammer.

Had a surprise pop up shower yesterday here in Plain Dealing at the camp. Dumped like 2”. There’s a chance even without a predictable front.

We got a little bit of rain this week here in central Mississippi. Before that, I hadnt hadn’t had any rain in 5 weeks. Everything that I wasn’t watering was dry and crunchy.

How y'all have managed to miss most all of the rain over the past couple of months as areas around you disappear completely from the Drought Monitor is kind of wild to see. There's just an island of Exceptional Drought (the worst on the scale) centered around Greenville.

Good thing we got some rain yesterday. Farmers have started planting ‘cane, gonna need rain after…

Not sure where you are but in C FL, we have had rain almost every day since the first week of June.
We did 4th of July fireworks in rain, in between downpours.
Been a very wet summer.

How often do you burn stuff to where a ban impacts you?

Yep….pretty much every day a severe thunderstorm would be bearing down on us only to completely disappear just before it arrived!

Last Thursday (?), we got a good rain in Jxn and Ridgeland, no rain at my house at the Rez.

Further north than that. It’s around Benoit/Rosedale
