Because of its creator’s history and because it is commonly flown alongside ‘Trump 2020’ flags, the Confederate battle flag and other white-supremacist flags, some may now see the Gadsden flag as a symbol of intolerance and hate – or even racism."

If they kicked him out because he violated some school policy (such as no political statements on clothes or bags), then I get it. But on its face it seems sort of stupid, and the staffer isn't even correct in her reasoning of why it is disruptive in the first place.

So it's about how people feel about it, not what it really means.

If he had a cotton shirt on for sure he supports slavery. Cotton has slave overtones.

Ignorance and authority are a terrible combo.

Absolutely nothing is weird about the Gadsden flag.
True, but a 12 year old wearing it to school is a little weird. Still, lots of 12 year olds are a little weird. No reason to kick the kid out of class or create any issue over the patch. Hell, a good educator would use it as an opportunity to teach the class.

The Gadsden flag should've been our national flag.

That's how you know it wasn't disruptive. At least to his fellow classmates and anyone sane.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the only person disrupted by this was a blue-hair teaching 4th grade with Pride and BLM flags in her classroom.

12 year olds should know the history of the American revolution by that point.

If they don't, THAT would be weird.

Hopefully they do and it would be nice if that education included the history of the Gadsden Flag, though I doubt it.

I would bet a lot of money most 12 year olds don’t have a good answer for what the Gadsden flag is. Regardless, all I said was wearing it to school as a 12 year old is a little weird. That seems pretty obvious. It’s just as obvious that wearing it shouldn’t be an issue in a public school.

The reason kids are so stupid these days is because the people teaching them are just as stupid. We don't have educators, we have indoctrinators (mostly).
