List is very sus. Pharr, TX? Eagle Pass? They loaded up on Texas cities/towns in the middle of nowhere or along the border. I mean, they can be hidden gems, but I feel like the article is promoting cheap places to live so the corporate types can swoop in and buy the place up.

The ones around NY are specifically areas where tons of new build communities are going up whereas some of the much nicer, cooler older cities where I know people who've bought houses under 500k are left off.

I made a similar comment but removed it because the article does mention that it's the entire metro. I'd agree that Birmingham proper belongs nowhere on any list like this otherwise.

There are a lot of younger folks that have moved into Birmingham. There are a ton of newer condo developments on the South side. And, I don’t know the total crime numbers, but homocides are way down this year. Police presence in the city is higher than I’ve ever seen it. Not a fan of the mayor, but he’s getting some results.
