This metric in the study probably includes the Bayou Sauvage NWR and the marshes along Lakes Borgne, Catherine and Pontchartrain. That undevelopable part of NOLA is near 30,000 acres. You need a boat to enjoy it, but it is greenspace.
This exactly. New Orleans is coterminous with Orleans Parish, which includes all those acres of wetlands. Somehow this very flawed study missed how New Orleans is the single worst heat island in the country due to its lack of tree cover in most of the urbanized area.
You drive over the bridge into BR and all you can see is trees. But not green. Nope. Not according to this list. Eyeroll.

In the Venn diagram of life, those that are upset by this share the same slice in common as those waiting on their $5k govern’t check.

Oakland is a polluted dump! This is fake news. Sad.

When I think green, I definitely don't think Oakland. Unless you're talking about what comes in a plastic baggy.

It’s ok to admit Baton Rouge sucks and most mornings it smells terrible outside.

BR has less green spaces than Laredo? I don’t know about that.

Try looking in front of you next time you’re behind the wheel coming in from the west.

How many other large cities sit on a large river lined with chemical plants and refineries?
While not on a river, tied for #92, Corpus Christi has a shitload of refineries. Seems to be a commonality there.

Well Baton Rouge literally means “Red Stick” sooooo…

ok and??
if you have ever been to Honolulu then you would know them being listed at #5 makes the list complete shite. Unless they dont consider smog at all times part of the criteria.
In the end, BR is a government city that is also an industrial city. We want and need industry but we will need them to be clean and over the last 40 years there have been massive massive steps to make sure they are being clean. Different environment than there was in the 60-70s

Wait until the takeover of City Park is completed and every square foot of concrete poured is covered with graffiti.
