First Tesla 1.98-seconds

Aren’t there several accommodations necessary for that time? Like a rolling start and a sticky track surface? How does it compare to other cars in the ~$150k range?

Tesla will outlast all of them as a daily driver too, top end cars like that become giant paperweights quick if driven often.

Because it's fricking awesome, and you can tell everyone you know how it's fricking awesome too.

What reason does *anyone* have for owning any one of these super cars? Because it's fricking awesome.

And it's a huge rush to take off in one of them and hit 60 before you can blink, then the adrenaline you get from hitting that 150+ mph mark and seeing the lines on the road basically turn solid.

It's like riding the biggest and baddest roller coaster on earth

That, and how many times can it do it between charges? I understand you can't do many of these "ludicrous mode" launches because of the insane drain.

Gas powered cars don't suffer that same fate.

It's a dumb comparison anyway. I think electric cars have their place. And I might have one to drive to work and back when the price is right...I like the idea of plugging in at night.

But they aren't nearly as versatile at the moment as a regular ICE equipped vehicle.

Any reliable ICE car you can buy will absolutely spank any Tesla in a race across the country.
I doubt that's the case

Sub 2s requires VHT and a one foot rollout. Without them, it is about a 2.3-second car. Still massively quick.

Not sure why people get defensive about ICE cars. Electric cars have instant torque and everyone knows it. Just the way they are. No, they aren’t the answer to all life’s problems but can’t deny the performance

It isn't a poor handling car but it won't have the apex speeds of performance sedans like an M3, M5 or CTS V, and on tracks that don't have huge sections of WOT those cars will have an advantage.

CT5-V's Lightening Lap at VIR is 2:49.4 (Writer driven)
Plaid with aftermarket brakes and a pro driver 2:50.7

668HP vs 1020HP. Rear drive vs AWD

Also;

In between track sessions, the two would drive to the nearest Tesla Supercharger about 25 minutes from VIR, spend another 40 minutes getting a full charge, and then drive back, all the while discussing different strategies to take down the Taycan.

My brother in law has one. It is stupid fast. Like, I don’t even see the necessity for the speed. It literally hurts when you launch it. It is fun as shite and the acceleration at 0 and the acceleration at 50 are the same which is scary as frick.

Yeah
I like to go fast and real don’t care if it’s gas or electric.

For the money, there’s no doubt that Tesla is the answer. The others are exotics. For that kind of money, I wouldn’t even want to drive without serious protections

The Tesla could actually be a daily driver

Done on an actual prepped track. It was either RT or MT that did it and Tesla would not allow them to do their standard asphalt test.

This is a brain-twisting picture in several ways. I can't wait to see the first Telsa to do it.

I don’t understand why people are so against the EV technology. It’s amazing what they are doing. It’s not ready for the masses nor all scenarios. But the technology has advanced tremendously in a short amount of time.

Regardless if you want to admit it or not, it’s the future.

Probably right. Wish people could see past that and just make a decision for themselves after looking at the facts.

fast cars are dick magnets. You pull up in any of those super cars and you’ll get leghumped by 100 guys and zero chicks.

I asked my single buddy with a UR Huracan how many chicks he’s picked up with it and he said “all the dick I would ever want”.
