It still looks like it’s well maintained so I don’t think it is.

they got plenty of bad asses who have been doing things like that for years. trust in me. Most cities dont deal with the magnitude of crimes BR does.

I lived there for a year in '07. It definitely wasn't high-end luxury living, but there was still a decent amount of students living there at the time. I can only imagine what the clientele is like now with all the new apartments that have gone up closer to campus since then.

Gardere is damn near little Mexico now

I’d be surprised if any LSU students live there now.

Suspect in standoff with deputies after gunfire along Gardere Lane; nearby school on lockdown
Yeah that bondsman isn't getting paid.

BATON ROUGE - A suspect is reportedly refusing to come out of an a apartment along Gardere Lane after firing shots at a bail bondsman Thursday afternoon.
The standoff was first reported around 2:30 p.m. on Gardere Lane, between Highland Road and Burbank Drive. Officials say deputies were initially called to assist a bail bondsman who was trying to detain someone.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said the suspect, who has not yet been identified, fired a shot at the bail bonds agent.
A message sent out to families Thursday afternoon said that nearby St. Jude the Apostle School was entering a "soft lockdown."
"Due to a disturbance on Gardere, we are in a soft lockdown. Students are safely in classes. Our on campus sheriff is monitoring the situation. Parents and students are not allowed to enter or exit the buildings at this time. We will update again before dismissal."
No injuries have been reported at this time.

I stayed with a buddy who lived at Teakwood the day before I moved to Houston on June 2001. Tropical storm Alison, as I went to drive away the next morning, more than a foot deep in the parking lot. Thankfully I had 4Runner, but it was pretty sketchy where I had to guess where the driveway turned out to the street. Probably 2 feet deep in some places, some cars were definitely hosed. Of course as I got to Houston, Alison didn't get any better. Fun first weekend there.

I lived in Teakwood in the early 90's. The complex was basically nothing but students then. We could walk to Rainbow Market for cheap beer. Play a pickup basketball game without fear of things going sideways and when we needed something to eat and were out of Ramen noodles, we would grab the pellet gun and hunt for some robins in the field next to the complex. For the price, they were a good value.

It really is amazing just how fast Democrat voters can take over and turn an area into a war zone/third world country. Great job!

Just sitting at the house waiting for St. Jude to come off lockdown. My kids are stuck in their classrooms for God only knows how long.
