That story doesn’t add up.

Read the NOLA.com story on this that came out the day they identified the victim. No link as it came out this past weekend and I am not going to go look for it.

The victim, besides being a young entrepreneur and seemingly good guy, was an aspiring rapper. I am willing to bet money thus is some rap beef bullshite. The article has quotes from the police that say this wasn’t random and that he was targeted.

They were keeping it on the down low?

Exactly. Police are saying it wasn’t random. Friend that was with him says it was a robbery gone wrong...but why tf would a robber resort to firing off two full clips at someone for running away. Usually if someone is shot like that in a robbery it’s bc they fought back. Just doesn’t make sense...

Also if it truly was a random shooting, no one, including police, seem that outraged or concerned with tracking down the perps. Feel like I’ve barely seen this story mentioned on local news coverage.

NOPD is garbage, but if you don’t think they are working bigly on this I don’t know what to tell you. This was in the OT-ballerville area of Nola.

I’m assuming their quiet on it bc it’s likely a slam dunk case. They know it wasn’t random, happened in a wealthy part of town, and probably have a slough of evidence.

If you search Espadron on FB you can read public posts made by his family, many of the comments mention jealousy and envy - seems like it was a set up as mentioned above.

Yeah it was definitely personal and not random.

There’s something not adding up.

Either the person he was with was in on it or he knows who or why. Why was he able to get away but the other guy wasn’t?

I think this was a gay lovers quarrel turned bad. What two guys just go hang out at the park together all the time or after a Pelicans game?

So you're implying these juice baws were just out to smoke a little dozier on Perrier by the park when someone just unloaded two clips...and only hit 1 of them multiple times and the other was so damn fast he outran it?

The real story will come out sooner rather than later.

I met these two guys a few weeks ago at a F&B entrepreneur event. Coca Cola’s venture capital team was there and the victim was pitching to them in hopes of getting bought out. Out of about 50 local F&B owners, he was the one asking the most questions, networking and learning as much as he could.

I spoke with him for about an hour, and from everything I could tell, he was one of the brightest, most ambitious young guys I have ever met. His processing plant was in Lafayette and he was driving early mornings to pick up his drinks and deliver to the grocery channels himself. Doing well, but working his arse off to get there.

Sounds like it was a legit random robbery, according to the second Nola article. Really sad.

As said above, the story from his partner just doesn’t add up. Something else is going on.

I know nothing about these guys or these events, but that is very sad to hear. In a world where we need more young people like the victim, instead we lose one with the rare qualities you've described.

Sad. As much as I hope the 'rap beef' comments are false, it really wouldn't surprise me. It's unreal how often young 'aspiring rappers' are killed by gun violence. You never hear that 'aspiring drummers' in up and coming rock bands get gunned down by 20+ shots in a park. As much as these young drummers, for instance, are also probably involved with purchasing and using illegal drugs, they sure don't seem to shoot each other nearly as much, if ever.

Random robberies don’t usually end with two clips being emptied. Especially not at Audubon Park. There’s more to it. Sad story though for sure.

Right, they themselves out not other “aspiring drummers.” My point remains valid.
