I watched one dude pull a car seat out of the back to make more room for wood…while his woman held the kid. I assume both the kid and the seat will ride in her lap on the way back to the trailer

12z GFS lost the plot for Feb 1.
Giant swath of snow from Texas to North Carolina with AL and GA getting 12”-36” of snow.
(this is total snowfall, so this system and the next)
I feel like I should clarify for those skimming this thread. THIS IS NOT FOR THIS WEEKEND.

it actually happens, my kids are going to give me so much shite because last January, I told them to soak it in and take lots of mental pictures for memories because they'll never see that much snow here at home ever again in their lives. Everytime we talk about that snow event, they tell me, "dad, it's gonna snow like that again one day" and I keep laughing telling them no. ?
Sounds like your kids have a better grasp of climate change than you do.

I'd rather have 14" of snow than the bullshite we're going to get here south of I-40
Uhh yeah. 14 inches of snow really isn't that bad and is actually pretty fun. Ice is not.

i'm not sure how people deal with this winter shite. i mean, homes in the south should be built to withstand every fricking natural disaster known to mankind. wind, fire, rain, snow, ice, mud, floods, you name it.

dunno... after this week, and the projections a week ago from today, of us getting snow and ice, and basically we won't get anything close to that, i'll just say i'm a little hesitant to believe the forecast today for next week...

It's one model run. If multiple models continue to show that consistently, then we'll have a forecast.

Ahhh... Left the tentacle dildo in for the drive.
Bold strategy.

What screwed me last year was the pex in the North Wall of the house. 24 hours in, they froze. i heated the house up to 85 degrees and drove around for a few hours.
New construction. Insulated walls to code. Insulated attic well beyond code. Never thought 2 degrees was possible.
