yeah, that was the last chatter i have heard about it too... haven't seen any of the board weather experts say anything that would lead me to believe we will have winter weather this upcoming weekend

Yeesh....seeing that drone shot, that had to have especially sucked to be in one of those homes through that. Hearing the cracks and waiting for a thud on your roof might be PTSD type stuff down the line.

ETA: Ah well, I guess the pic is fake.

It looks to be an east coast threat, including the Carolinas and possibly eastern Georgia. Originates from a stout low/storm offshore. Could be a big mess all the way up the coast.

Why is that good? Either way honestly isn’t good.

Melts only to refreeze. But at least people can open car doors if they could before and charge phones etc.

Don’t melt and it’s slick and dicey for and movement.

Cold wise: local Chanel 10 had a time lapse of the jet stream for the rest of this week. With a frigid core that drops a mass of frigid single digits that comes over Tennessee, Kentucky and surroundings centering on Saturday. Just a mass of single digit misery surrounded on all sides by significantly warmer air.

He’s being a cocksucker and making a lane kiffin joke. Pontotoc, Union, Lafayette, and Tippah counties are all in various stages of disaster. Tippah has large swathes with no water, gas, or electricity.

Even if it is fake that’s what a large portion of this area actually looks like. Our roads thirty minutes outside of Oxford are cleared because we bought a snow plow after 24.

I know, that's why it got me. There's no need for fake shite when it is so bad in reality.

ARCTIC AIR ROUND 2 coming up this weekend. An even colder air mass looks poised to drop in from Canada for the end this week. A winter storm is likely for the East Coast but all of that mess stays away from us. Frigid temperatures will make parades this weekend BRUTAL.

Yeah we're not going to see 32 or above until next Wednesday. It's pretty insane.

Baw, a joke is a joke, Obviously I wish only the best for those areas. Being without heat during this cold would be unbearable and my prayers go out to them for a swift recovery so they're back to normal in time for Lane to curbstomp them in September.

She's got a nice voice. Far too rare in the media.

This weekend's cold is gonna be a problem for the entire eastern half of the country. The freeze line could extend nearly to Miami with parts of Florida seeing temps in the 20s.

In the parking lot I had my kids go 20 and hit the brakes to stop. Then I had them go back and do it again from same braking point only this time I had them put shifter in Neutral. And the second method stopped them shorter than first method.

Told them they have to practice so its instinct and not panic. The interchanges where lights are turn icy faster as friction and car heat melt and refreeze. Thats where lots of fender benders happen.

Also taught them to move wheel tracks to side to try and find and rocks or pebbles or snow that allows wheels to find braking grip.

This guy gets it.

Only thing I'd add is that when the ABS activates on snow, don't forget to steer. It may not do much, but it will help. If it's ice though, you should have been somewhere else.
