My wife is leaving the doctor in Baton Rouge right now and just texted "something" is falling from the sky there. Can anyone confirm if she's right? I already know she's crazy.

Sun is out here (Louisville) but it’s 12 and feels like 0.

We ended up all together with about 6.5 inches of snow with some sleet mixed in. Fiancé was able to clear the driveway with a snow blower. I’m going to head out in a bit to clean off the cars before the more extreme cold sets in.

wouldn't the snow help insulate the vehicles?

The cold isn’t going to get a whole lot better by end of the week and we’ll likely need to drive at least one of them before then. You also run the risk of some of it melting in the sun, refreezing when it goes down, and then you’re having to chip off layers of ice and snow.

Got them cleaned off. There was a definite layer of ice from the sleet in there. Otherwise not too bad.

Very OT
One summer I ran our office in Calgary (they were between managers) and several of our employees were from the Indian subcontinent and one was from near Saudi.
They were talking about flying home and all swore that they avoided flying through Houston because they couldn't handle the heat and humidity.
I just kept my mouth shut and smiled.

We had 6-7 inches of snow at my house in Southeast Texas last year, on January 22. Temp got down to a mind-numbing 9°F. A rarity for so far south, but it was beautiful!

Good to see that Oxford stopped melting, at least temporarily.
