If you are comparing Roomba to some of the AI that is being worked on at DARPA and the big tech companies then I think you are ripe to be ruled over.

We just gave ours away to my sister this weekend

I think we got an impaired one, he just doesn't seem particularly bright

It was great for a while, but then it just started going around in circles and vacuuming the same 5 sq feet of floor for 20 minutes. Maybe he got stuck under the couch all day too many times, IDK

I love my Roomba (Vacuumus Prime), but he always gets stuck under my nighstand or sucks up a sock my daughter left on her floor.

That's because you have the bottom of the barrel roomba. The higher end ones map out your floor plan and move in a logical, orderly fashion.

A Roomba even if it lasts only 1 year is cheaper than calling in a maid or a house cleaner that won’t frick you.

I have a BobSweep.
I equate it to an eager kindergartner willing to run the vacuum for you.
It will go over and over the same spot, ignoring vast areas.
It will get stuck often and stop.
It is loud.

I watched mine struggle to find the charging base this morning for 10 minutes before finally putting it on there myself.

I guess I was under the impression these things "learned" the layout of its space, but it just goes over the same spots repeatedly when I've watched it.

I like it though, especially for the hardwoods. They get swept every day now instead of just the once or twice a week pre-Roomba.
