Get a Neato D3
Love mine. It has LIDAR, maps your house and you can set "no go lines", it also cleans efficiently and not randomly like your roomba

My wife always asks if I’m at home working before she turns it on. She got tired of me turning it off right away. I pretty much hate the thing but do like that it makes us not have to spend time vacuuming.
As far as it getting shite stuck in it, I’m hoping my daughters will finally get tired of it sucking up shite that they left on the floor in their room. One can only hope though.

100% this. I've had two Roombas and then a few years ago got a Neato. Works way better than a Roomba and isn't retarded. It first goes around the perimeter of the room, mapping everything out and vacuuming along the baseboards. Then it starts a lawnmower pattern back and forth until it has traversed the whole room. Then it moves on to the next one or goes back to its recharging station.
The Roombas had a random pattern. Every time it would hit a wall, it turned around and took off again at some random angle. I never was sure it completely covered the room due to the randomness of its pattern. Also most of the time it was never able to get itself back into the recharging station properly. So it would whine and beep until you came and put it in there yourself.

Mine takes the same sensible path every time it runs.....for about 2k sq ft

If you compare a specific model to all roombas you can make that argument.
My roomba i7 maps my entire house, vacuums exactly the same way every day, empties itself, and gives me a detailed report every day if I want it.

My roomba is a massive disappointment also. We got it on clearance at Sam’s years ago. It basically runs until it gets stuck.

I had a Bobsweep. It was great for a couple of months, then it didn't sense the stairs.

Doesn't matter. My golden retriever killed 2 Roombas and a Neato. In all honesty, the Neato was definitely the smarter of the 3 robots but its knowledge still didn't save it from death by massive quantities of long blonde hair.

Step 1: Pick up things off the floor before starting the vacuum.
Step 2: Turn it on as you leave for work.

watched mine struggle to find the charging base this morning for 10 minutes before finally putting it on there myself.
I have a eufy. It works great. It gets stuck occassionally here and there, otherwise it's fine. It also sometimes struggles to find its way back to charge, but that's usually when the charger doesn't have appropriate space around it. Needs about two feet in either direction and 3 feet in front and it does fine. Also, to the person that said there's cleaned a 5 foot circle for 20 mins....that's a setting mine has if I choose for it to focus on a spot, otherwise we have it set to go randomly around the place. This thing has ran for 2 years straight now, I like it.

I just got done sweeping and mopping my floors, it’s just easier to do myself.

Just put a cat on it and watch it go

Maybe it knew that if it just let entropy slowly break it one component at a time, you would just keep fixing it and it would remain your slave forever, so it opted for a spectacular end so that it could taste the sweet release of death.
Also, never run the robot unattended if you have pets.
