to play better than Carr? Some of you need your heads examined. The majority of rookie QBs struggle their first year in the league. Carolina gave up so much they’ll have no supporting cast for him. This is great news for the Saints because we won’t have to worry about Carolina being good for awhile.

You say that now but if they draft a superstar, it’s going to suck

Last year's top QBs: Kenny Pickett, Brock Purdy
Pickett on the Panthers wouldn't exactly light us up
Purdy is great, but also not picked first round - SF did not expect him to be as good as he was; also a product of his supporting cast, which Carolina actually gave them a piece of, lol.

2021 top QBs: Trey Lance, Justin Fields, Mac Jones
Are we scared of any of those QBs if they were on the Panthers right now? Are any of them better than Carr?

2020 top QBs: Burrow, Tua, Herbert, Love
Great QB draft - at the same time, Burrow was limited by his OL and supporting cast (and injury) his rookie year; Tua was not good his rookie year or 2nd year; Herbert is also lacking a supporting cast, similar to Carolina; and Love hasn't sniffed the field yet.

My point is the odds that they find a QB they can immediately plug in and beat us is very slim as long as we keep our defense intact. They need more pieces than just a QB, so it's good that they gave up so many picks because that really limits their ability to build around him.

2020 also had Hurts.

Such a great QB draft class.

If you hit on these early QBs you are set up very nicely. Of course many don't work out. I would have loved to give up what the Panthers gave up for a Burrow. That's for sure.

No clue if any of this year's QBs will pan out. I applaud them to taking their shot. As a Saints fan I hope they miss.

Agree with this. If the saints were in their spot, I’d be upset if they didn’t at least take a shot at getting the QB if the future.

I think they going after Stroud from Ohio St. or even Richardson, I can't see them going after a smallish QB like Bryce Young after giving up all of that. Young will be a qood QB in time I think, but he will need a lil work and a really good OLine to keep him healthy, and they just gave up a lot of picks to ruin that. But I would bet on Stroud as their guy if I were a betting man.

And if you draft another Jameis Winston or Mariota at one or two it’s gonna suck even more.

I’d have no problem giving up what they did if there was an Andrew Luck, Burrow or Lawrence sitting there. A no brainer first overall that is universally agreed by everyone will be the next top tier qb.

This draft ain’t it, no one can agree who the best qb is this draft and that should tell you something. I’d say Young is the closest, but he’s a midget.

And this why the Bears traded the pick.

No way in HELL Richardson is going first. I'll sell both my nutts to science if that happens.

Well our D line is getting VERY thin. We’re going to have to stock back up.

Yea, don’t agree with the compensation and think they’d have been better off waiting for the top 2 guys to come off and make a play to get the 4th.

I like Young long term, but think Stroud will be ready sooner. With that said, I’d trust Reich to maximize the potential of whoever they draft. I just hope the Saints don’t catch Carolina week 1; been burned too many times w rookies in their first start

Big risk for a potential bigger reward. Carr is what he is. Mostly good, but unlike to ever be HOF great. If Carolina “hits” on a rookie QB they would be set for over a decade.

In 2017 KC was coming off a 12-4 season with a solid, but not spectacular, starting QB in Alex Smith. They traded a first and third to move up to take Mahomes. I doubt they miss those two picks they gave up to get him while celebrating their second Super Bowl win

Of course, if Carolina “misses” they will be chasing this trade for at least a few years

In the 2023 Draft, nope, I don’t expect any of these QBs to play better than Carr, this year, or three years from now.

Richardson going first would be egregious enough. Carolina thinking they needed to trade up to 1st overall to get him should have the owner firing the entire front office.

Bad teams trading away future 1st round picks is the equivalent of hitting an ATM after 2am. Nothing good can come of it.

All of that said, they are taking Young.

Carolina gave up a lot to draft a QB that I am just nit sold on in this year’s draft. Really not sure there is a first rounder much less a first pick.

If another draft like the one in 1983 presents itself, John Elway, Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, then you take a shot.

Don’t underestimate the stupidity of the Carolina Panthers. I could see them doing something stupid like this, thinking he could be Cam Newton 2.0. Spoiler alert: he won’t be.
