Will they player better than him next year. Likely not. Will they be cheaper, absolutely. Will they have a better career, we have no idea but if they don’t they’ll be a disappointment going that high.

And if you draft another Jameis Winston or Mariota at one or two it’s gonna suck even more.

Can't be any worse than the last few years they have had.

If they draft a superstar, then they have Brees and we have prime Matt Ryan for the next 3-4 years.. Falcons went to a SB with him and an NFC championship.

I’m happy with that.

Ryan at his peak was better than anything Carr has ever done.

Both have had 2 100+ passer rating seasons in their career. Ryan had one truly exceptional season that carr hasn't approached.

. Carolina gave up so much they’ll have no supporting cast for him.

The Rams gave up more to get Goff in 2016 and made the playoffs his 2nd year. He was certainly not a franchise Luck/Borrow/Lawrence type QB either. The did of course hit a ceiling with him and moved him for Stafford. Btw his stats are similar to Carr’s first couple of years

Carr 100.8 and 101.4
Ryan 117.1 and 108.1

Ryan also threw for 30 TDs 3 times and 28+ 3 more times. Carr topped 30 once and 28 once

Ryan > Carr

Ryan's 100+ seasons were years 9 and 11 of his career; he was age 31 and 33.

Carr's 100+ seasons were years 6 and 7 of his career; he was age 28 and 29.

Carr will enter his 10th season this year at age 32. Maybe he has his best years in early 30s also.

I would say through age 31, they're very similar

Addison, you’re looking at this on a short term basis. Carr will only get us a couple of more wins next year. He costs a lot which doesn’t allow you to build the team in other areas over the years. A drafted QB is on the cheap for 5 years allowing for other positions to be shored up. That’s how Philly got to the SB. In a few years we will only have improved slightly with Carr, not enough to make the SB, and looking for a QB again. But this way doesn’t make DA or Loomis or whoever makes these decisions look bad in the short term. They went the safe route and the job saving route. Drafting a QB is man’s work but the rewards are great.
