WR separation chart

Why does Kellen keep calling deep shots to Lance when he can't separate? We could see it in the games, do we think the head football coach is aware of these analytics? He seemed surprised when he got asked about screens and PA
I personally thought Barrion is who we'd target for deep shots before the season even started in the sheed role

Who else do you want to run downfield, Barion Brown?
They don't have anyone that's talented enough after Vele

I’d love for our 1st round pick to run downfield. Oh yeah, he hasn’t played a snap yet FML

Yikes, Shaheed

Sheed has a 4-5 year sample size of separating at the NFL level. Maybe he's regressed, but it's possible Seattle's offense just hasn't settled in yet with Drew Lock playing so much and all of their injuries to the rb's, (which limits the effectiveness of play action deep balls).

It was a joke. We know Sheed is older in age and in a different system than the Saints ran previously or now.
He and Lance do share some close space on the chart though.

seems to be creating room for olave and vele

This is not a good look for him, but he is a mid round rookie right now. It's still a bit too early to judge him on this, but they do need to figure something out. Awful statistics here

How much of the lack of separation is also because Lance appears to struggle reading zone defense when he's running his routes. How many times has Shough "thrown an errant pass" because Lance would have been wide open if he sat in the zone, but he continued to "run the route" right into coverage.

We’re not getting much from Lance or Delp right now.
They are playing snaps and maybe they are blocking well. But we could have signed a blocking tight end for cheap in free agency.
Hopefully they keep getting better and contribute more.

wow Egbuka looked really good at first about this time last year for the Bucs.
looks like his stock is down currently.
look at Shaheed though.
I really liked him here and hated to see him go but he doesn't get the ball much in Seattle and you can tell maybe why from this chart.

Olave we already knew but reassuring to see Vele in good company.
