I am putting in Darrin Sproles trade, (allegedly without consulting Drew). I said at the time was a horrible move. He was Drew’s safety blanket and replaced by someone who wasn’t even on the team two years later. I honestly can’t remember his name. This was done because they thought he was slowing down, getting injure prone etc and had two to three left max.

He lead the league in yards from
Scrimmage one of the next years made what 3 or 4 more pro bowls and what retired a year ago or so. They totally fricked this up and offense didn’t look right for several years after this. This was CSP or someone being arrogant. How do you not go to Drew on this?

They gave out some bad contracts in the early 2010s. Jarius Byrd, Brandon Browner, Junior Galette come to mind.

In before Byrd... But i still maintain it was the right move. Dude was an all pro at the time. Jenkins was a piss poor tackler and nowhere near the level he was at in Philly.

Imo... The worst move may have been him trying to take over the defense. In year 1 Rob Ryan seemed to have that D running on all cylinders. Then it felt like he wanted to duplicate Seattles defense and it went to shite.

For the record i have no idea if any of that is true. But something drastically happened from year 1 to 2 under Ryan

His worst move is ignoring the need to groom a new QB three years ago

The Sproles and Graham moves had more to do with Payton realizing he was being too predictable when they were on the field. Instead of adjusting, he traded them.

I think Browner was the worst move in the CSP era. Over spent for a player that didn’t fit the defense during a time frame where all we needed was a defense for another legit shot at a SB.

Not the signings themselves, but the shitty overpriced contracts we gave out in 2012 to David Hawthorne, Broderick Bunkley and Junior Gallette set us the frick back. Not only were Hawthorne & Bunkley misses, but each somehow managed to get us for $5M/yr. What made that was worse is that was on the back of letting Sproles & Graham go so we needed to sure up the D to help Drew out and we failed miserably.

Byrd ended up bad, but on paper it was not. It was a need.
Browner also sucked, but I feel like I remember us giving him a fair contract

Lying repeatedly to Godell about Bountygate.
This made it personal to Roger the a-hole, and he buried it deep in the organization, from which we are still not fully recovered.

Letting Brees come back for one more year when everyone knew he was done and Brady was ready to play for the Saints for five more years.

The worst single move was:

Knowing the ongoing galette issues popped up
Restructuring or allowing that portion of his Contract to become guaranteed
Then cutting him.

Something like 12mil of dead space? fricking ridiculous.

This during the 20-17 loss to Atlanta in 2017 when we choked a lead away?

Davenport.

The dude is trash and we blew the chance for 2 decent starters with that trade.

Signing Jason David, a cover 2 corner to play man was horrible. We wasted so many of Drew’s prime years with horrible defenses because of bad drafting and decisions like the David signing.
Exact same thing happen with Browner…..
