It's not that I didn't want to pay him, it's that I didn't want to pay him 15/year. I was all for 12/year.

ETA: ESPECIALLY after the year he had last year. I know he was hurt, but that season should have hurt his stock more than it did.

I’m definitely one of them. He’s proven me wrong in a big way, and as most on here know, LSUZombie is never wrong.

That said, he hasn’t scored in 4 games...trade him.

I'm not in there thankfully. I was definitely one who felt that 15 was a bit high. That being said, I trust Payton's evaluation of offensive players (Not named Peat) and where they can help. Then after hearing more about his injury it made more sense. He had some type of partial tear last year and played through it. He could have easily sat out and recovered. By playing he could have hurt his stock and risked a bigger injury. After knowing all that I couldn't have anymore respect for him. Guy is the best back in the game and I'm glad the saints locked him up.

To be fair im not sure anyone saw a scenario where we would have like 2 active WRs healthy.

But i was skeptical as well and am glad to be wrong. Would hate to see him doing stuff like this against us.

I wasn't sold on the price, but without him we'd be under .500 without question. It's clearly apparent he was hurt last year and he's playing like an MVP candidate right now. Glad to have a stud like him locked into a contract now to help our next QB that takes over.

The way the Saints use Kamara, you can get the same damn production from Nyheim freaking Hines.

Eta:I will run from this thread now.

Dude thought thru could replace Kamara with Chris Thompson or Theo riddick lol

Kamara is the best non QB skill player in saints history. He just does so much

I personally didn’t think we should pay him due to the shortness of running back’s careers and the steep decline in production. My view was “the top running back in the league is usually a guy 2-3 years out of college, so just move on to the next one”

But that’s why I am not a GM.

He’s having a great season.

I didn’t have a strong opinion on it one way or the other.

I didn't think it would be wise to break the bank for him, BUT, it turns out that the Saints gave him an excellent but reasonable deal.

AK has indeed performed better than I expected. I was wrong about that.

Eh I've probably got a post about trading him. In hindsight, given Drew's blossoming downfield inabilities, Kamara has the perfect skillset for this offense. Theres not a ton of guys who can steady take those dink and dunk passes and keep the sticks moving.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara has 55 catches through seven games, more than any RB in NFL history through the first seven games of a season, per @EliasSports.

He's on pace for 126 catches & 1,271 receiving yards, both of which would be single season records for a RB. Absolute machine.

I said I'd have no problem with letting him walk and getting a comp pick. I was very, very wrong.

If all you told me was that he was gonna be healthy all year. I have no issue. The dude's a baller. I think the injury concern was what most were worried about. When healthy he's top 3 and arguably not 2 or 3.
