Is that what you make of those numbers?

I'll play along.

All dumpster fires eventually go out for one reason or another and sometimes after the fire you get a better dumpster back than the one you had before

For the money, this is a bet that you have to make. I’ll admit to having my apprehensions, but the upside greatly outweighs the downside in this case.

Signs of maturity in his decision. I’m gonna let it play out.

Point is people can improve. Winston is never going to be Manning or Brees or Brady, especially in terms of accuracy, but if he can cut down his INTs to like 14-16 while still being a big volume passer, that’s still pretty good. Doesn’t mean it’s going to happen, but we’ll see what SP can do with him. He has the physical tools. You can’t teach that but you can possibly teach mental ones.

I don’t think our locker room is some fragile thing that can easily be screwed up

And his contract makes it a no brainer to cut him if he causes any trouble.

It's nice to know you have a locker room and coaching staff in the NFL that players know if they go there it might help their career. This team should have three championships.

I don’t think anyone doubts that he has talent. His stupidity and lack of football IQ can’t be denied. A QB needs to be smart and he’s far from it.

So we're saying JW is Peyton Manning now? This is the argument you want to make?

These were your own words. That’s not the argument he has made at all, you’re just too stupid to understand.

At some point you are what you are.

Good thing we didn't sign a dumpster fire.

There has been only 7 players in NFL history that has thrown for 5000 yards in one season. Not only do we have 2 of them but we have the only one that has done it multiple times. If you do not see the sliver lining in this then you are choosing to keep your eyes closed.

What you got is this: NFL 5 Seasons

Comp % 61.3; YDS 19,737; TD's 121; Int's 88; Fumbles 31

Total Turnovers: 119 2 Total TO's less than TD's.

Winston nearly gives the ball back to the opposing team as much as he scores for his team.

I'd take Andy Dalton, or Cam Newton over this statistical failure. At least they both taken their teams to the playoffs.

Cause he already made up peoples minds for them by acting like an arse

Some people do that when they are young then they figure out they need to stop. Some people seem to do it more as they get older, only time will tell.

throwing alotaa picks

If it weren't for last year, he would look suspiciously like Brees for most of his career. He also throws a lot of TDs. 121/88 td/int. He's never thrown more picks than TDs. Something Brees did once (in San Diego), Peyton Manning did twice (First and last year playing), and Favre did 4 times (scattered through his career). Favre also has 2 seasons in which TD=Ints which Winston has also never done.

So I guess it looks like your saying people have already made up their mind because they really don't understand how to think rationally?

Year one in Arians system has been a disaster for many. Jameis is probably closer to averaging around 15 which seems on par with a gunslinger type.

15 is fine when you’re throwing 20 something TDs

When you’re throwing 19 you’re not a gunslinger you’re just a bad QB.
The story of his career is can he limit ints. And so far the answer for 5 years has been “no”

But really he’s a fricking garbage person and I dont Want him associated with the saints.

Nobody is debating his talent.

He threw for 5109 yds and 33 TDs last season.

He was 25 yrs old the last game he played. He turned 26 in the offseason.

Look, we all know he acted like an idiot who was out of touch.
He's grown up with the Midas touch. Everything has been fricking gold. Undefeated season, national champ, Heisman winner, #1 pick in the draft.

That's what Joe Burrow just did, everyone LOVES him. I do, too. And y'know what? Burrow posed and postured on teams. Waved bye-bye to the Texas fans. Talked shite and backed it up. Joe Cool, etc.

Can you really blame Jameis for getting full of himself a bit too much, in the same exact situation?
quote:

If he comes in ready to work and learn, I’m all about it though and it’s an amazing deal
I guess the hope is this- getting cut humbled him and forced him to take a look at how he handles himself. I personally don't think that's an unreasonable point of view.

Jameis isn't dumb, I think he's tested pretty highly. High Wunderlich score, could have got into Stanford.
I HOPE he realizes he's one bad misstep from being out of the league, and one attitude adjustment from being the starting QB for a perennial playoff team ran by the best offensive coach in the league. That's superstar potential.
