This is beta thinking.

NFL coaches have egos that rival only politicians. There will be many candidates lining up for the job. There are only 32 in the world and they take the jobs thinking they will be one to succeed at it.

Depends how many jobs are out there. Seems like there are 8 jobs every year. The team has also been turned down for interviews in the past, per media reports. And you also have guys like Ben Johnson that put out terms before considering an interview (someone else did something similar last offseason).

Also, those egos also tell them that if they skip on a less desirable job this year, there will be a number of new opportunities next year

Would be my #1. He won’t last long on the open market

Proven CEO winner like McDermott or someone to specialize in developing Shough?

I think McDermott would ensure you got the right people on the offensive side

I think the real thing you’d need with him is a new GM, someone to work in lockstep with

McDermott put Daboll and Brady with Josh Allen. He’s a sharp guy. Also people gloss over how hard it is to consistently win in the NFL. Only Kansas City has remained as consistently good as Buffalo from 2018 on. Burrow, Lamar, Lawrence, Herbert, etc have all had downright bad or mediocre years with their teams.

McDermott is probably the wrong route, we'll end up in the lions' situation.

Proven offensive coach ideally (McCarthy - already missed on him, leaving only Gruden which isn't realistic), or

Klay Kubiak (49ers OC) preferably.
Nate scheelhaase (Rams OC) might also get a look

She was an interior decorator with multiple lawsuits against her and broke , then she met Tom in church , thanks to the Archbishop matchmaker and love blossomed and he bailed her out . She is very nice and polite but not a sharp business person .

I don’t think firing in season would make a difference. If Gayle is serious she should be on the line with a consulting firm having the whole franchise evaluated management to on the field play.Have the firm vet potential GMs,and management candidates.Keeping any front office personnel would be a mistake and let new GM and new staff make coaching change decisions.Galye will be surprised at how incompetent ML has been.

In 1995 we started 1-6, and got to 6-7 before a tough loss at ATL.

I’m not worried until we get to 1-6
