Saints are not planning to replace OC Pete Carmichael Jr. or any other assistants beyond Dan Roushar at this point, per sources. Although the team knows it needs to be better on offense, they believe in Carmichael and his track record. Adding to offensive staff still possible.

I'm not really against this.
I'm also not really against the whole system failing quickly to spur a complete rehaul.

As long as he doesn't return to the OC role that's fine with me.

Damn, let’s hope we don’t trade our FRP next year lol

So the TEs coach takes the fall for the pathetic offense. This franchise isn't serious about winning.
We've got a group of best buddies in their 50s and 60s running the team and they'll never actually replace each other.
Thats how we got that bullshite "coaching search" last offseason.

Not saying I agree with the move, but maybe it's not Pete's fault.
2021 total off/game: 304.5 yds
2022 total off/game: 333.8 yds
2021 scoring off: 21.4 ppg
2022 scoring off: 19.4 ppg
Perhaps the solution is more an influx of talent on offense than an OC. And of course, better health.
I'd be seeing if we can get carr for a 3rd

I don't know what to think of this.
there were a few games at the beginning of the season where i thought they had something going in the run game. I mean hell there were 2 weeks in a row that they went over 200 yards. It was against two playoff teams (Seattle, Cincinnati).
it took them long enough to start playing Shaheed more. And then look what happens when you gave the man more chances.
I thought the passing game sucked because the pass protection was subpar. Couple that with 9 different players playing in the lineup during the season. And of course, Andy Dalton has no mobility and takes sacks like he's doing it for charity. I think injuries on the O-line were the biggest issue for the offense this year.
To be fair this also the second season in a row where the O-line has had no consistency to it health wise. Our offense was worse last year but also dealt with more challenges.
like I said, I don't really know whAT to think about this.

I gave mine up for the Covid season and I have not missed it at all. I enjoy not going to games at this point.

I’m moody about it, I’ll want to go half the time & stay home the other half. But I’m done supporting this shite. Gayle benson & Loomis are clueless

Once you go about 8 games without going you will be happy you didn't renew.
I still go to maybe 2 games a year and that's fine.

let's say this does happen.
I'd actually be nervous to see who they replaced him with.

That's the problem. It won't fail quickly. We'll be mediocre average and win 7-9 games a season at most and create excuses instead of blaming coaching and game day decision making, which were two of our biggest fricking issues.

There can't be a complete overhaul when Tom and Gayle have treated Mickey Loomis more like family than their actual blood. Mickey got promoted from his GM job rather than fired, for them to bring in Ireland. Now he's in the ownership line. He fails up the ladder in this organization.
He's basically on a lifetime deal, and as long as he doesn't want to fire his golfing buddies, there will never be an overhaul.
