quote:Yep. With our tight cap space, it would be advantageous to us to offer a multi year deal to spread some cost. Now, it could always be a multi year with fake years (ala Fairley and Brees deals).
Where in the hell are y'all getting that we offered him a 1-year deal? That would be against our best interest. If anyone offered him a 1-year deal it would be Rams.

It will be the Rams. Young decent team, more money to drop on him presently and he won't have to do all the work since they are pretty stacked. I think we are his second choice.
Agreed. Young team, beastly defensive line, can potentially offer him a bit more, west coast, massive market.
100% think its going to be the Rams.

Do you guys mean young qb and coach? Because we are just as young as them every where else on the field.

They can offer him more but what is cali's tax rate like? Isnt it stupidly high? I legit have no clue
Posted on 3/21/18 at 2:42 pm to Mystery
I only ask because by saying young, you guys are saying he is choosing Goff over brees. I just don’t see that.

that's really all that matters

Me too. But I still would question why he would go there since he hates the 3-4
Posted on 3/21/18 at 2:44 pm to Sauce Castieaux
I believe they do have high taxes
Posted on 3/21/18 at 2:45 pm to Chad504boy
Why does that matter. Do you think Goff surpasses Brees over the next two years? Do you think the rams sign him more then 2 or 3 years?
Posted on 3/21/18 at 2:45 pm to WicKed WayZ
I really don’t think 3-4 vs 4-3 means that much in today’s league. Wade Phillips wouldn’t only have one DT out there if he had Suh and Donald on the same team. They would play more 4 man fronts for sure.

If Suh only wants to win, the argument begins and ends with Brees and Goff.
Non-elite quarterbacks do not win superbowls. When they do, its an aberration. The Rams could have the #1 defense in the nfl; if you score 13 points in a playoff game at home against a middling to bad Falcons defense, you're not going to win.
If he picks the Rams, he is hoping that offense takes a step forward next season. He's not walking into a finished product where he's the missing piece. He's walking into a team with an average quarterback. A team that had incredible injury luck. A team that lost its number 1 receiver, and the only receiver on the roster who could consistently separate from top corners. A team that traded away its best linebacker (yes he was bad last season, which furthers my point of how desperate that unit is for talent). And 31 year old coach who is now 0-2 in the playoffs with 2 pitiful performances. Suh does not fix any of the problems on that offense.
Even with the additions of Suh, Peters, and Talib, the Rams are not even close to a sure thing. The Saints on the other hand were 1 play away from going to the NFC championship. Their only real question marks are whether a 2nd receiver will step up and if this is the season Drew declines.
If Suh is actually looking at this in a vacuum as to which team is more likely to win the Super Bowl with his addition, the answer is clear.

How was the Rams attendance though?
I don't think they sold out home games...Ain't nothing like a sold out dome rockin' on sunday...Hopefully that plays a factor...Well actually it proly doesn't since he played in MIami,

To be honest would you pass up playing with a hall of farmer for a quarter who can possibly have a bad year next year
Posted on 3/21/18 at 2:49 pm to Number1Saintsfan
No, I would not. Especially if I was 31. This is why I don't understand these posters who keep bringing up age as a positive factor for the Rams.
First of all I am pretty sure we are younger than them on an average besides Brees. Secondly, very slim chance that Goff is better than Brees over the next 2 or so years.

I'm in the denial phase of this process. I felt very good early on, but I don't think we will get him now.
This is based on nothing but my sadness.

Then they would leave Donald and Easely at DE and try to squeeze Suh beside Brockers? I just don’t see the fit

A 31 Bree's is better than any scrub quarterback out there lol ?? Yea I believe he is better than Brady I said if he had the ream Brady has Bree's would have just as many rings

He fits perfectly in our defense. We basically have a reserved spot for him, & it's the exact kind of way that he likes to play.

I'm not sure where it is now after FA, but at the beginning of last season we were not younger than the Rams.
Team 2017 (Average age / Rank)
Rams 25.09 (2)
Saints 26.51 (28)
Total Roster Age
If you look at only the starters for last year (at the start of the season), we are closer, but still older.
TEAM AVERAGE AGE (Rank)
LAR 26.32 (6)
NO 26.62 (12)
Starter Age
