People that want to tank for Manning don’t actually watch college football. This place is becoming flooded with people that just want to type their feelings and get reactions rather than actual football fans.

Can you name a quarterback in history with the last name Manning that has sucked? I’d take my chances on those bloodlines before a 26 year old rookie with one year of starting experience ten out of ten times.

Y’all do realize that no Manning that I am aware of has never left school early to go pro? If he is like the rest of them he won’t be coming out until the 2027 draft.

Different times. But I will say that Peyton and Eli both had meh Jr years. Their TD/INT ratios were not great. Both of them had stellar Sr seasons. IF they'd have had good Jr seasons, maybe they'd have gone pro.

If he’s number 1 overall, he’s declaring.

That being said, if the Saints have that pick, expect the Mannings to try and dictate where he plays. And it won’t be here.

I’m pretty sure Peyton was still projected to go #1. the year before he came. the only first round QB in the 97 draft was Jim Druckeiller

Eli was draft eligible after his sophomore year which was arguably his best.

From 1970-1997 8 QBs were drafted #1. Starting with Peyton in 1998. 21 of 28 have been QBs

Link?

Also there is no way to know definitely who is the #1 pick when players declare (see Sanders, Shedeur)

The Mannings value education and their legacy. That kid doesn’t even need the NIL money he is getting. I could be mistaken, but I think back in the day if Payton had left a year early he would have been the 1st pick then also. It’s possible he could break from this and come out early after only starting for a season but I don’t think so.

2027 is better for our timeline now. Two seasons to figure out if Shough is the guy.

Yeah, and you can continue to put the team in a better position to be successful with the right QB

It was said on a Nola.Football pod that Archie is going to play two full seasons at UT before he comes out.

I personally think they would love for Arch to play here.

Not arguing that part. I’m talking straight up on the field play. If Arch didn’t have his last name he wouldn’t even be an afterthought. Dude has done nothing to warrant consideration as an NFL QB

We're in a new era of football now, where the main objective for NFL prospects is to boost their draft stock while trying to avoid serious injury. If Arch plays well this season, which is very likely, he's almost guaranteed to be an early first round pick. I don't see any scenario where he stays.

Saying Shough started for 2 years minimum is being very euphemistic
He has started 29 games (almost 3 years worth) and played 42. People are acting like he barely played at all. He has played plenty.

It's also crazy to go in with the plan to tank now considering you really don't know who the consensus #1 QB was going into the next draft. If I recall correctly at this point last year no one was talking about Cam Ward as a day 1 prospect. The 1st round favorites were Beck (some had as #1 overall), Ewers & Sanders.

The year before there were not many considering Jayden for a 1st round grade. Few years prior was Tua's year and Burrow was a 2nd day pick at best

It’s a great story but they don’t care about stories. They want success

Nah. We’ve known the last few #1 overall picks long before the draft. They can declare in as little as 90 days before draft day, and there’s countless models and mocks, both internally and externally, to help them understand where they’ll be taken.

IF he’s projected #1 (I said if), the Mannings will look at the teams with top picks and either pull another Eli, or possibly let him come back for his senior year as leverage. You can bookmark it.

It will probably be who is sitting there with the no. 1 pick that may be the deciding factor.

Just because his uncles didn’t leave means nothing in regards to Arch.

If he is smart, he will time his entry into the draft to not end up being picked by the Saints and end up staying in this shitty state.

Arch will never hit transfer portal and never leave early for NFL. Texas till he graduates.
