From "bust" to team captain. Not bad, Mr. Young.

If we get a full, reasonably healthy season out of Young, I could see 15+ sacks. This is in part because I think we will be better this year and playing with a lead more often, forcing more passing downs for the opponents.

This is neither here nor there, but few people have ever looked more like a monster DE than Chase Young. Fortunately, he looks and plays like Tarzan.

Capt. Rumph too.
Another under the radar pickup. Duke standout. Good combine with a 2nd-4th round grade. Colts couldn't find a spot for him thank you football Gods. We have had our share of that. Coaches son I think dad coaches Dline for the Steelers? Seems he has found his home!

Yep, People will still knock him for his production vs where he was drafted but none of that should matter to Saints fans, we didn't draft him so he doesn't have to live up to that for us. But if he does, the Saints look like geniuses'.

I'm hoping lightening can strike again with Tyree Wilson. But again these are low risk, high reward signings. IMO.

Dude was a future superstar that signed prove it deals with a shite team and spent the whole season as the number one cheerleader at ALL times.

Awesome to see. Great teammate. Perfect choice for captain.

His hair is the wrong shade of gold.

Better fix that.

He's one of the special teams captains (not knocking it, just explaining why you see him over some others you might expect). Same with Wood if people are wondering who he even is (which you definitely should).

I like the fact that he seems to genuinely love New Orleans and says it’s a great situation he’s come into. He plays very hard. And by all accounts he seems to be taking on a leadership role on the team and players like him. I just wish he was more productive.

eh, Zach Wood has been on the team for almost 10 years now. Hopefully everyone on this board knows who he is.

You’re still trying to make this a thing? Injuries, sure? Productive on the field? That’s dumb.

I think its the lockerroom that Davis and Jordan had built/sustained. Young came in and didn't get shoved into a lofty goal - he just was asked to play well and be a contributor. He proved he could and obviously a great teammate

10 sacks last year and he's only 27. He may never live up to #2 overall, but that was Washington's issue, not ours. We just need him to be a #1 DE.

I’m not trying to make anything a thing. He was healthy and played all 17 games in ‘24 and had a grand total of 5.5 sacks and 31 tackles. Last year he missed 5 games and had 10 sacks (.5 less than Cam Jordan) and 38 tackles. The most he’s ever had.

Over his career he’s averaged 12 games a year, 5.3 sacks a year and 28 tackles a year.

He’s a great character guy. He’s a high energy guy. I like that he’s on the team. But he’s not a dominate player that changes the game. He’s a bull rusher and we still need a pass rusher.

Nobody wants me to be more wrong than me. I hope he stays healthy and has a career high 15 sacks this year against good competition. I just need to see him do it first.

Young isn’t as “bad” as you’re making him out to be, but he’s also not as “good” as others are wishing him to be. I believe the latter is normal for a team lacking real star power; we are trying to wish him into being a All Pro.

He’s been in the league 6 years. This is the year where he unveils which player he wants to be
