They must have made this same offer to NO, right? #25 this year and next year's #1?
Would this board give up Lattimore in exchange for your choice of McKinnley/Charleton/Watt, plus a first rounder next year?
Interesting proposition. I came into this draft hoping for a trade down, but Lattimore being there was simply too good to pass up.

Is that typical of two teams to do that before the draft? Honest question. Not sure if that would be unethical or not.

no way to know months ago who would be available on the draft board.
maybe preliminary talks, but Loomis taking Watson was still more than a minimal possibility.

No way I'm dropping that far and not getting compensated for it in this year's draft. The Saints did the right thing.

Lattimore is the kind of defensive prospect the Saints rarely add. He's probably the most "promising" and highest upside defender we have the second he steps on the field. You don't pass up on that for two late firsts in the first round.

Think about it like this... Houston had Osweiler at QB last year and still had to trade up to get to 12.
