Didn't know if anyone had heard that or not. Anyone? I'm a little nervous now. I had not realized that until I heard it on ESPN for the first time yesterday. They have great insight on that channel.

I remember in 2000 Kenny Mayne did a joke analysis of all these "stats" to weed out the teams that had no shot at winning. There was something for every team where they couldn't win the Superbowl because "no team had ever won the SB that.......". The joke basically came out to be that nobody was going to win the SB.

What's missing in this 0-3 bull is an intelligent discussion as to what those teams records were fore the first 9, 11, or 13 (assuming all time 12, 14, and 16 game seasons).

And it goes without question that none of them ever started at 13-0.

Saints have never had a coach win 2 Div. titles or have homefield advantage through the playoffs or a QB of Drew Brees's caliber or...well there are more records this team set this year so if one stat gets you all trembly and just remember the most important thing. Jason David is gone. I think that cancels any bad 0-3 mojo thats out there. Beat the Best. Be the Best.

I can't believe that's the first time you heard that on ESPN. I hear it every day.

Please tell me this is sarcasm.

Okay, I played the sarcasm too close to the vest and it was undetectable. I am actually sick of hearing this and tried to post it as though it was breaking news by ESPN. They keep saying it as though it has not been said, though. I agree with all of the comments here. Considering the Saints situation with injuries, locking up home field, and starting 13-0, it is completely irrelevant. Heck, Indy finished the season 0-2. Are they out of it as well? Has any team with a 2 game losing streak in the season every won the Super Bowl? I am sure that they have. That is basically what the Saints experienced and they would not have if Hartely would have made a chip-shot FG at the end of the Tampa game.

Rather, with 20 days rest for the starters, what will the Saints look like against Arizona? That is the better question.

What's the deal with all these statistics? I mean they are fun to say but they are meaningless.

Did they say how many teams it actually was that lost there last 3 games and then won the Super Bowl? Did they say how many of those already had the #1 seed already locked up by the 15th game? or even had the division already won? Did they say how many of those teams were resting injured players? Just how close of a comparison did they make?
