2 days into FA, how do you rank our team needs?

This excludes QB, obviously.

LG
CB
WR
Pass Rush OLB
RB
DL
OL Depth
TE
Safety depth

What’s the confusion?

QB will always be 1 when you don’t have one so I’m excluding it.

It’s academic that it’s a de facto 1.

CB and LG are the only true needs, as we have a giant hole in both.

Would like to see MVS and Willie Gay come back for depth, but would be fine with another guy to fill their roles.

Everything else on OP list reads like a draft list.

OL depth should be up there. We all saw the offense collapse after McCoy went down.

Still lots of good WRs out there: Diggs, Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, just to name a few. Cupp maybe, eventually

Becton and Samuel make sooooo much sense for this team as constructed. Getting them would truly allow us to go anywhere at 9.

We need a big body wr to move olave to hr hitter. Olave's only chance of staying on the field is probably just being a deep threat at this point.

Guys I’m looking at in the name of “win now”

quote:

WR

Need a vet presence here with a big body. Cooper would cost but a guy like him is needed. Johnson is a shithead so doubtful we look at him

Amari Cooper, MVS, Diontae Johnson

quote:

LG

Cheap, effective vets, short deal

Kevin Zeitler, Scherff, will hernandez

quote:

OL Depth

Guys with pedigree who you probably don’t want to rely on to play 17

Jedrick Willis Jr, Tyron Smith

quote:

CB

Vets on a year deal?

Stephon Gilmore, Jonathan Jones, slay, fuller

I would say this, and a top receiver, but not sure we get all 3 in FA. Hopefully we get at least 2 and target the 3rd in the 1st 2 rounds (unless bpa absolutely doesn't lineup for it).

I wouldn't mind bringing Lucas Patrick back cheap since he was playing well before his injury, while also drafting a guard in the 3rd-4th ish rounds. Corner I think we need to sign AND draft one.

The rest are definitely focuses of the draft and value priced vets post draft.

I would bring Patrick back because he was our best backup center as well. He can backup the entire interior line.

Pretty sure he meant that as in like glaring holes without even a legit player to fill it. We have other needs, but not as glaring as those 2.

You're having a different conversation.

We got a starting Safety of which was a massive blackhole. We pot committed to the 3 TEs we have salary wise. We retained an outside edge rusher. We traded for a NT.

So they are filling needs, making those positions not as dire.

"Need" is sort of a different thing than whether that position group is actually good

I really hope we sign players for both of these spots in FA. I am so fricking sick of drafting CBs high and I want NOTHING to do with the michigan corner at 9

No, absolutely need a wr

We have 2 small, injury prone WRs as starters and neither are true wr1

Sign Dante Fowler and Dalvin Tomlinson. Probably won't sign Tomlinson since they kept both sheperd and Saunders, which I don't understand. Run defense was atrocious.

Re-sign lucas Patrick qs insurance at guard. Find an upgrade at LG.

I feel like the Saints have substantially decreased the voids and huge holes in roster. We are sort of close to being able to approach the draft with an open mind of taking best players that would be able to upgrade any position on the roster.

I think the DL is no longer hurting for numbers. Shepherd, Breese, Godchaux, Ridgeway, Boyd, Saunders then adding edge guys like Granderson, Young, Foskey, probably Cam Jordan will go along way. Maybe we can still use another young explosive prospect.

Linebackers we have some numbers and some youth that can grow. Jaylan Ford, and Nephi Sewell are promising. STill have werner and davis. Add in some other bodies on roster. Again, can maybe use another dynamic player here but could go along with the same edge player above.

O line can still upgrade. Obviously who is LG is an issue but at least we have options on how to approach filling this void.

CB is a huge need still.

Safety slightly less of a need, Reid was a huge add. Still could very well add a promising prospect. Not sure how staff feels about howden's future.

WR is a huge need. I rather draft here and not spend much money in FA on declining vets.

TE's are very servicable. Taysom is a question mark. Holker has good potential to find a role on this roster. Probably will still draft a guy.
