No, dude was a locker room cancer, couldn't block for shite.

Rather find a young TE maybe in the draft that can block as well as catch.

I clicked this thread just to downvote you.

JG is a soft bitch. I would love to see a Gronk type paired with Brees before Brees retires though.

I would love to have him back. I think he would appreciate being back here after being misused in Seattle.

I don't think he will ever be an all-pro guy, but he would be great in the red-zone. Imagine having to account for Kamara, Ingram, Thomas and JG.

It all comes down to the price tag though. He made $40M the last 4 years. At 31, I imagine he will get a fraction of that. If we cut Fleener and use the $4m savings to pick up JG, I would be happy.

As for blocking TE's - I'm sure we can figure that out.

Ben Watson would be a much better veteran option. He's old, but he pretty much had the same stats as Graham last year on receptions, yards, first downs, etc. Only stand outs for Graham were # of TDs and receptions of 20+ yards.

Watson can block, got $6.5 million less in salary last year than Graham, and is a locker room leader.

I say cut Fleener, sign Ben for 2 years, and draft a TE late and let Ben train them up for a couple of years.

We definitely need a TE who can block and who also can be a threat in the passing game.

Yes, because this offense is better with a good TE. Hell, the boost in 3rd down conversions and red zone efficiency alone makes it worth it.

didnt we trade hicks for a TE who could block?

we have coleman, a blocking WR (lol), now we need a blocking TE. yet we still have 2 RBs as 2 of our top 4 pass catchers and only one WR/TE who can get open

doesnt have to be jimmy but we need at least a TE and another WR

Eifert, Brate, or ASJ.

Pick the best priced one.

I love Eifert but he's played 10 games the last two seasons and 1 game in 2014. He's always injured but he brings a RZ presence that rivals Graham

I like brate and ASJ, too

There are no Gronk types. There’s Gronk and then there’s everybody else
