Why draft a receiver?
At a top ten pick to be your #1?
You could have gotten Downs and a recievers in the second

You need more than 1 weapon

just like that.... we go from no wr room to the room is too crowded entering a 2nd year extremely mature QB.

We've entered armchair Budweiser-at-9am GM season

Yeah I hate when our offense has multiple weapons.
But seriously though, Jonas Sanker and Justin Reid are solid safety options for the next several years.

You have to have players who can score TDs. We didn’t have enough. Brees was a unicorn QB who could throw 40 TDs to undrafted FAs. Shough is a 2nd year QB who’s only played half a season. Give him a weapon to open up Olave and shred defenses for the next 10 years.

Even when they do Documentarys on Brees.
They Barley Allude to that.
Dude could play and make a competitive team with almost any bottom of the barrle players.

Most QBs aren’t Brees and need multiple WRs.
Outside of Olave we had very crappy weapons compared to the rest of the league.

frick it. Day 1 of camp and Tyson is looking the part. Viable WRs and TEs this season will be really nice to watch.

Respectfully, I'm happy we have multiple receivers and don't have to celebrate Kevin White catching a single ball each game

Do we run single wing/wr sets mostly?

I see some of you point. I was hoping we could have shortened Olave's contract to a three year extension.
But unless you have an elite TE, you need two good to great receivers. Saints TE is good, but not elite.
Tyson has the tools to be elite. Olave is borderline great. I link our offensive skill players as a whole. Would like one more, but for now this is good.

And it is so important to put weapons around this qb early in his career, both for his development and to see if you can catch lightning in a bottle before you get to the qb’s second contract. A lot of hay can be made that way. Maybe, Burrows, Mahomes … it gets tougher once your an is making 50 million per year.

I guess you forgot that Shough was throwing to arena football quality WRs by the end of the season
