Definitely should pick a tight end in the 2nd round. That’s the biggest need on offense to me after our first two picks in the first round!!!

I still feel like the jury is out on Trautman. He had shown some improvement and potential last season, I think with a healthy Jameis this year, he could really make strides. Also, Juwan Johnson could be solid this coming year.

I wouldn’t be against them adding a TE in later rounds or UDFA if the value is there.

It is a need, but there isn’t a TE worth a 2nd in this draft in my opinion. Need can’t outweigh value to be successful at drafting

I would wait to address it next year if trautman struggles again.

More pressing needs like safety, dt, and running back.

Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State

He lined up everywhere for them and was the focal point of their OFF. 90 catches, 1121 yds. Strong consideration for take if he is on the board.

I dont think it is a glaring need, maybe I'm biased, but i am still high on Juwan Johnson

Problem is that TEs typically don’t develop until year three or so of being in the NFL. There are exceptions, but most TEs don’t come in and dominate. I’m hoping Trautman has a breakout season and J. Johnson continues to develop.

I wish we could have signed OJ Howard or Robert Tonyan Jr.

You can get by with Trautman, Johnson and Taysom

Agreed and I’m not ready to give up on Trautman yet. Big learning curve for tight ends and he is making a big jump from D3.

Would not be opposed if its the best value, but agree with this

Trautman was improving tremendously before he was injured. Johnson looks like he can be really good in the passing game. You also forgot they have Vannett for another 2 years and he looked like he was becoming a good contributor in the offense after coming back from his injury

While Taysom is listed as a TE, and will be a weapon in the offense, I don't see them using him as a traditional TE.

Only if McBride is available, otherwise I'd go safety or another Olineman

If the kid from Colorado State is still there when we pick I’m taking him but I think they are looking for a safety or DT next.

Not a fan of TE in the 2nd round.

DT, LB, RB, or Safety for me

Saints are super constricted on what they can do know. TE is a need but I think it will be hard to take one in the 2nd.

3rd Rd was the sweet spot for a selection like that

If McBride is there, I wouldn’t be mad with that pick. No other TE I would consider in the second

What is the fascination with people wanting to draft a TE? What TE that has been drafted made an immediate impact for the team? Trautman was just drafted 2 years ago. Let him develop and see what happens. TE is not a position of need for the Saints.

Hell no. We need immediate impact players. If the best player available is a RB or another WR there should be no argument.

Plus I have a feeling taysom will do well filling that role now

Seems like everyone has forgotten about Nick Vannett. He's actually pretty good. We already have 4 TE's.

Trautman
Taysom
Juwan Johnson
Vannett
