They didn’t pass on him, and all 3 of the top teams said they were not trading out of those spots. NE was taking offers but were never serious, Daniels was still off the board by then.

He screwed up by letting his dad be his agent. If he had hired a real agent and gone through legit draft/combine prep then they would have been able to disguise some of those flaws and had him prepared enough to fool at least 1 team.

with a new young coach it would be hard to latch your career to him out the gate. call it what you want but it would be a daily media circus with the media giving him and his dad top billing. as an owner or coach i would not want a me first mentality out of my qb and that's what I see. qb position is different than corner and wr, deion was accepted with a look at me mentality, with qb not so much.... time will tell, will pull for him. he is just a kid and we all eventually grow up!! hopefully!!

If a team says no we not trading out of that spot. Then no they really couldn’t.
You saw what the jags just gave up for a non qb in a weak draft. Was a massive overpay. Think what it would cost to give up a franchise qb in that spot.
You said they passed on him and now trying to walk it back. Daniels was never an option for the Giants.

Every team in the league passed on him MULTIPLE TIMES until round 5. It's not just a Saints thing. It's pretty clear the league thinks he's an entitled, privileged a-hole

If I was the owner … the answer would be yes . I would discuss attitude , demeanor and how you represent the franchise and the city . Nobody gives that kind of money away for nothing .
