This . The only ones I know personally who are “boycotting” are the casuals who don’t know any players after Drew Brees...

I've been doing this. When I'm in casual conversation with someone who I know isn't a big NFL fan, and they say, "I'm boycotting the Saints", I ask them to name 2 OL or 2 LBs. They can't.

Boycotting group:

Thursday night game ratings were down 4000%! SEE?!?!

Also boycotting group:

Ratings are estimates, so any bump in ratings is clearly not reflective of the boycott.

This is 100% attributed to Tom Brady. He brought in the viewers. PERIOD END OF STORY !

Maybe, just maybe, it was attributed to 70,000 that typically watch in the dome that were at home watching and the bars in Nola weren't open for gather in mass so they were watching at homoe. Of course more tv sets are going to be tuned in.

This is what tripling down on stupid looks like and also proof that the Dunning-Kruger effect is real.

40,000 out of 120 millions households. That it. Don't tell me a couple hundred or thousand in nola and Tampa can't make a gigantic difference.

It won't. When Nielson does ratings they use geographic distribution of the people they survey equivalent to the distribution of the population. 40,000 participating households nationwide means they probably surveyed a total of 100 households between New Orleans and Tampa (each have about 150,000 households, 300,000 households is about 1/4 of 1 percent of households in the U.S.).

B.T.W. Reading, analyzing and understanding broadcast ratings as well as their methodology has been part of my job for 36 years. I started doing it when the ratings came out in paper books and used a ten key calculator and grid paper to break out and analyze the numbers. So much easier now.

Just give it up dude. There is never a reason to double down on stupidity, especially not internet pride.

Well since most of N.O is made up of black people who hate white people and America they are supporting the NFL, which is the same. If these black players turn on Brees, a man who has spent 20 years in nfl locker rooms and obviously is not racist, how do think they feel about some white guy they dont know? U better agree that America is a horrible place or else.

Da Brady effect

And then, there is Monday Night Football, which aired on four networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, and ABC) this week. Via ShowBuzz Daily, Monday’s game between the Raiders and Saints drew 7.45 million on ESPN and another 7.98 million on ABC, while viewership for the ESPN2 Megacast feed was not immediately available. The cable and broadcast simulcast’s total of 15.43 million viewers was up 31% from last year’s game, which drew 11.8 million viewers

It was never about people thinking Brees was a racist. I remember one player saying that, and I think he outed himself as an idiot on the Desean Jackson stuff.

Changing what the debate actually was about is just something morons like you do to justify your stupidity.
