I don’t think it even needs to be said at this point.

But on another note, it would be a solid pick up. IMO he’s an underrated RB. I love it that the Saints are going all in.

The more LSU players the Saints look at now= the more SP HATED them before.

Hated is a strong word. Strong bias would be saying it better. But nevermind all that….. it’s water under the bridge.

As someone said over on the rant..."Not so much that someone on the Saints before hated LSU players but someone there now really really likes LSU players."

Could also be a combination of both.

I really don't think CSP liked or disliked LSU players.

I think he was indifferent to them. It would be like 1 of us becoming a head coach for a California based team, & the way we viewed local colleges.

Maybe someone there wants LSU players now. To say that CSP disliked LSU is, imo, very silly.

I believe it’s possible it never started out as Payton not liking LSU players. But then he heard rumblings, possibly even from here…… and said frick it. And he went ahead and rolled with it out of spite. He has that type of personality. Not very likely but I’m just throwing something out there.

DW had nearly 500 yards receiving last season. He is a quality backup for AK and should be effective on all three downs...

That is very possible. It's not like he passed on a Burrow to take on Tua. 9 times out of 10, when the fanbase is clamoring we should have drafted XXX, the team ended up drafting a player at another position. We will never know if that LSU player was downgraded because he went to LSU (doubtful), was at a position that the team didn't think was a "need", or just had a bad interview and was a little further down the charts.

Sure, as fans we will always say we should have taken Queen/CEH over Ruiz. But, for some reason they felt Ruiz would be worthy of that pick and we all know how much they valued the interior OL; especially w/ Brees

he was above average filling in for CEH last 2 years.

He'd instantly be the 2nd best back on our team.

If anyone actually believes CSP made personnel decisions based on anything other than giving him the best chance to win football games, then idk what to tell them.

Honestly like Darrell Williams way more than Sony Michel. Williams will do much more for you in the passing game. We will need that while Kamara is out.

Who doesn’t like LSU players?

Why wouldn’t you like LSU players?

How many LSU players are in the NFL?

How have LSU players performed in the NFL?

I wouldn’t say somebody on the Saints staff hated LSU players….

I would say there was an ego maniac that thought he was better and smarter than anyone else.

And it was obvious that ego maniac was a terrible talent evaluater.

i.e.

Taysom Hill is our next franchise QB already in the building….haaaaaa

The thing that makes me nervous about all this-
the NFL is all about marketing, and the Saints are no different.

Payton had no need to pull "LSU fans" into the seats, because he had a perennial playoff team with a HoF QB.

If the Saints suddenly revert back to a 6 win team, at least you have some local players to draw interest... I don't THINK we're in that shape. But Jameis ain't prime Brees, either.
