The #Saints agreed to terms with former #Panthers FB Alex Armah, source said. One of the NFL’s most versatile fullbacks figures to be used in a lot of ways in New Orleans’ offense.

Armah is a great player.

What are you trying to insinuate?

Let’s just say the Saints were in the market after their fullback tested positive for Covid-19 and put the team in jeopardy of playing last year.

It ended up being a false positive.

All he has to learn is that Taysom Hill sweep play and he's golden. Easiest gig in the NFL

Great guy and an extremely hard worker. I played ball with him in college for a lil bit.

I think this was a sneaky great signing.

Go watch how he catches the ball out of the backfield
That's in addition to him being a great blocker.

Blocked for McCaffrey and mike davis.

Looking Like Taysom is the early front runner for starting QB.

He was drafted in the 6th round in 2017. That's pretty good for a FB. 5th/6th round is usually the earliest that FB's get drafted. As far as drafting...FB's are similar to P, K, & LS.

I was starting to think that we would use our 6th round pick to draft a FB...that won't b happening now though.

I thought Burton was a slightly better than average FB. He was good enough for us, but we needed an upgrade imo.

He was no where near as good as Zach Line. Hopefully this guy works out.

Here's WalterFootball's top 6 F.A. FB's

1 - Kyle Juszczyk, FB, 49ers. Age: 30. Re-signed with 49ers (5 years, $27 million)
An elite fullback, Kyle Juszczyk does everything for the 49ers. His age (30) is beginning to become a slight concern.

2 - Alex Armah, FB, Panthers. Age: 27. Signed with Saints
Alex Armah is a strong blocking fullback who did a great job of paving the way for Mike Davis in 2020.

3 - Michael Burton, FB, Saints. Age: 29.
Michael Burton is an effective run blocker who paved the way for Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray.

4 - Anthony Sherman, FB, Chiefs. Age: 33. Announced retirement
Anthony Sherman is a solid lead blocker. The Chiefs don't run very much, but Sherman is effective when needed. Unfortunately, he may decline soon.

5 - Nick Bellore, FB, Seahawks. Age: 32.

6 - John Lovett, FB, Packers. Age: 25.

In addition to size and versatility at the FB position, Alex Armah brings lots of Special Teams experience to New Orleans with him.

He has had 855 ST reps across kick returns, kickoff coverage, punt returns, and punt coverage over his 4 seasons in Carolina.

Armah gives us much more option, in terms of roster flexibility, than Burton did... great under the radar pick up for the Saints...
