I like an early bye week. Maybe not like week four or five, but give me a week six or seven bye week every year. I always find it strange whenever we’re at like week 11, or 12, and you see teams still haven't or are about to take their bye week

I'm not a fan of a bye and then 12 games, but my heart doesn't break for them either. I'm honestly surprised the players didn't push harder for a second bye in exchange for a longer season. Extend it one more week and give teams another by later on.

Did any of the board incels make a “mock schedule” this offseason? That’s always the saddest thing I see every year.

I seriously doubt all the non-nationally televised games are Fox exclusive. I believe there has to be at least one cross-network game per team per network contracts.

One is a Thanksgiving Night game, followed by a regular Thursday Night Game.

The Saints did this in 2018, while the Cowboys have been involved in TNF after a Thanksgiving Day Game for the past four seasons.

saints and dallas both play on thanksgiving so saints playing dallas on TNF is right for good ratings on a thursday...

The Cowboys ALWAYS get the TNF game after Thanksgiving.

Jerry probably wanted the extra primetime game, but whined to the NFL about how it's not fair that he'd have two short weeks to prepare if they have two Thursday games.

Forgot about that 17th game again

The 16 game schedule has always worked like this:
4 - AFC conference division
6 - home/away division games
4 - NFC conference division
2 - remaining NFC division teams that placed same position as Saints in prior season

So how was the 17th game against Tennessee picked and why on the road?

It goes against your preselected AFC Division (we play all four AFC East teams, and this year we just play one AFC South team that finished in the same place as us) and in this year, all AFC teams will get the home game.

Next year, the Saints will play all AFC North teams, and will play against one AFC West team, and that AFC West will be chosen based on how they finish, so if we finish first in our division, we will play the first place team in the AFC West, and we will play them at home.
