I don't get the love for Daboll. He was the OC for the Browns, Dolphins and Chiefs and his offenses were absolutely terrible. He was part of the NE coaching staff, but wasn't the play caller.

He is getting his accolades based off of running an offense with Josh Allen, who happens to be what Cam Newton was hyped up to be. I just don't get him being the front runner anywhere. Seems like a Joe Judge type of hire.

There's some top notch Honduran food in New Orleans that will make Honduran Brian Flores feel at home. Should give us the edge over New York

There has to be a reason why EB isn't getting jobs. Maybe he just isn't interviewing well...something is off there. And it's 100% NOT because he's black.

Really excited about Flores. What he did in Miami after a terrible start, with Tua, is very impressive.

The Reid OC haven’t done too well. Pederson won a Super Bowl, but the credit has kind of been shifted to Frank Reich. And Matt Nagy was Matt Nagy.

Unless we get Mahomes with Bieniemy, I’m not really interested. I’m not interested in Leftwich either. Flores is a good coach. I’m intrigued with Glenn too, he seems to be a fast riser. Although, if you bring in Glenn, why not keep Allen?

He's developed Josh Allen. He's had a ton of success in Buffalo.

What you say is true, but the Giants are a storied franchise, with a family ownership that has shown in the past it is committed to winning. So, I think it would be a tough choice. Of course, neither may offer Flores the job, too.

Don’t hate flores but was not impressed with that dolphins staff a few weeks ago

Some mind numbing decisions and management. Perhaps they took risks knowing how depleted we were but man

Flores checks a lot of boxes. I think people are underselling what he did in Miami. He took over the worst team in the league.

I think our infrastructure would be great for him. He and Ireland both went to BC. And if we wanted to make a play for Watson, seems we may have a leg up as a preferred destination

Flores is underrated as a HC. He took over a bad team and had them playing hard. I'd love to see what he could do with a good roster.

Daboll's seasons as a OC netted:

2009 - Browns - 32nd ranked
2010 - Browns - 29th ranked
2011 - Dolphins - 20th ranked
2012 - Chiefs - 23rd ranked

2018 - Bills - 30th ranked
2019 - Bills - 24th ranked

2020 - Bills - 2nd ranked
2021 - Bills - 5th ranked

So outside of the two years where Allen became a Superstar QB, the dude runs an offense that at best, ranks in the top 20 NFL offenses.

Remember the saints will also be needing a Defensive coordinator and Offensive Coordinator no matter who they hire for HC. Many of these interviews have a secondary purpose as well as HC interest.

If DA is hired as HC they still need OC and DC.
If an outsider is hired as HC they will likely need a DC and OC. DC depends on whether DA feels slighted by being passed over.

In the interview, one topic is who would they want to bring on staff. The org gets name drops and information on these coaches that they may not be familiar with. There is a whole lotta information the organization can get by brining in candidates outside the organization even if their ultimate hire is in the organization.

We don’t need an OC if Allen is retained. Carmichael probably leaves if an unfamiliar HC with offensive background is hired which is the worst possible scenario

.

So his QBs before he got to Buffalo were

Browns - Brady Quinn/Derek Anderson
Browns - Colt McCoy/Jake Delhomme
Dolphins - Matt Moore/Chad Henne
Chiefs - Matt Cassell/Brady Quinn again

He’s been with the Bills since they drafted Allen, who was terrible and developed in a top 5 guy.

You want to dock him for coordinating career backups 10 years ago, but not acknowledge Allen’s meteoric rise under his tutelage

Heard on a podcast that he has been bombing his interviews. Players may like him, but I think the Chiefs O is all Reid/Maholmes.

Uhhhhh, this is the type of QB we can most likely expect next year. Josh Allen was anything but terrible. He was a top 12 pick, who was considered raw, but insanely talented.

This is insane to me. In 2017 I chatted with him at a West Monroe football practice while leaning against a chain link fence. Fast forward a few years later and he's being talked about as a head coach in the NFL! I certainly didn't get that potential from him during our brief conversation.
