I'm not getting excited until some random jagoff on here tells me he's house shopping in Metairie.

Can we keep our line intact AND afford RW3's salary?
I dont see why not. Give them Taysom and someone like Kwon Alexander (I would like to not trade him but i dont see how we do this without losing a good defensive piece) on top of whatever picks it would take and that's 29 and some change off of the books. (not accounting for any funky trade language in contracts). Russ's cap hit for 2021 is 32 mill i believe. Im sure loomis could pull some mental gymnastics to come up with an extra 3 mill to cover the difference.

So, 3 years/$70 million ($23.3 million per year)

Only 2021 is guaranteed.

this would be reworked almost assuredly into a new megadeal to get that first year number down

We can't afford the star players we have now much less Russ! I'd love to have him slinging the ball but we don't have the capital period!!

you see in trades you give up assets to make things work.

We do this every year man.

Have you ever heard of Mickey Loomis?

He treats the cap like stonks.

Hes the perfect QB to replace Drew. Feel like his style of play fits perfectly into the system. But damn it would be pricey to pull him in.

Is it worth putting a dent in your current roster as well as your future draft capital for a 33 year old QB. In a vacuum I'd love to have Wilson but all other factors considered, Winston is probably a more logical choice.

Look where its gotten us though.. 1 super bowl appearance/ win a decade ago.. Russ isn't going to change this.

If we managed our $$ well we could afford w/out trading stars.. It isn't that hard to understand. Everyone seems to be on Mickey's junk man.

Meanwhile, I just want another super bowl for our city.

take this with a grain of salt, cowherd mentioned 3 first rounders yesterday on his show

So we just trade Davenport for him and the Seahawks get the equivalent of 14 first round picks.

Unload Thomas and whatever other large cap hit decent players with picks and maybe they have a shot.

Although they already have Lockett and Metcalf. Adding Thomas, just wow...would easily be the best receiving corps LMAO

There are two things I know for sure:

Russell Wilson is the quarterback who is most similar to prime Drew Brees. Wilson modeled his game after Brees. He would be a seamless transition.

Also, if you don’t have a stud quarterback in this league, you don’t have shite. The #1 path to irrelevancy in this league, the ultimate coach-killer, is a mediocre quarterback or a project quarterback.

There’s likely nothing we could do with 3 consecutive #1 draft choices that could equal the impact Russell Wilson would have on this team.

Do it.

They wouldn't take kwon alexander and his 13mil salary. He will be getting cut shortly.

It's going to take like 2 firsts, a 2nd, a good defensive player.

id rather the 3 first and taysom. why would they even want MT when they wouldnt have anyone to throw him the ball. He'd just be bitching for his way out by the end of the season.

They could trade him again.

idk what exactly our struggles were in the playoffs but offloading a bunch of 1st round picks and star players won't get us there either.. I doubt anyone can pinpoint this but we have loads of talent and can't get there.

I don't disagree Russ is a top 5 QB. He can't win alone though.
