re: Saints current plan is trade back to add picks and will select Jalen Milroe.

Listen, I completely agree. The arm wording was more that he has the arm strength to put the ball anywhere - a lot of guys lack that (Including Sanders!). I would never say Milroe isn't a PROJECT. My post is mostly more about the point that unless you bottom out and get the first pick in a great year, you are taking more-than-minimal risk with any QB pick. If they're going to take that risk - which they will eventually - my preference is to do that on a guy who actually has upside that would be transformational. I don't want to take that risk for a guy like Shadeur who literally will never be a top 10 QB even at his apex.

He is a project, but a project that could pay fantastic dividends; however, if you take him too early, that could easily backfire.
Exactly how I feel.

I think I got that, I was just clarifying because I feel the need to do that on this board.
I find your takes are usually pretty close to mine. For my money, I don't see a QB other than Ward that is anything more than marginally better than Rattler (at best) right now. Some may have a higher ceiling, but none are worth a first-round pick to me or the draft capital to trade into the late first round to get them. Too many other needs. Maybe second round, better third, any of them make it that far. I don't really think I know enough about Shough to have an opinion, though.

I would take him the second if I had a strong roster and wanted to add a wrinkle to an already strong roster, if he develops past a taysom type then it’s lagniappe. Thats not us. Our roster has so many holes, Milroe isn’t a gamble worth taking.
Milroe has plenty of starts under his belt, in a top conference, with top level coaching…his mechanics and progressions are still total arse. The odds of him becoming an above average starting qb are pretty low. Fields was a much more polished passer coming out and is still no where close to being a good passer

I have zero qualms about drafting Milroe in the second round. He could be a solid RB or TE, or a really fringe project at QB. I just don't think any of the QBs in this year's draft are worth using the 9th pick in the first round. This team has needs EVERYWHERE, and the QB position simply doesn't have
Yall said the same shite about Lamar Jackson.

IMO, this is not a bad player to take a dart throw on in the late first or early second. I would love Milroe at 40, but I'd like even a trade up to the late first for him too.
I would legitimately boycott Saints football if the not only picked Milroe but traded up to the first round to do so.

Those arent remotely comparable prospects

Jeeeeez what a clown show. They’re sloppy with Gayle’s money.

Mick, do you want to assure that you can never step foot into ANY establishment in South Louisiana

I saw him, under no pressure, throw a screen pass into the turf at the feet of a wide-open receiver with half a football field of green in front of him.
He’s awful on short throws. You wouldn’t think screen passes would be such a struggle for a starting QB but it is for him.
His footwork is awful, he begins too many plays with no idea where to go if his 1st read isn’t there, and he doesn’t throw with anticipation. Also mentally he’s weak (I don’t mean he’s stupid or a coward). He might be a good X’s and O’s guy off the field, but on the field he’s collapses too easily the moment things start going bad for him. A few different games this year he looked like he gave up after he threw 1 INT or fumbled.
Also his athleticism isn’t what people think it is. He’s got elite top end speed. But not great lateral mobility or field vision. Also while he’s capable of being physical there were too many times he ran OOB too early.
IF he is going to be a good starter he needs to sit like Love did for the Packers. He needs a complete rework both physically and mentally.

What happened to the last 126 current plans? Is this the last plan?

Did you leave out a couple of numbers - 100% ...

They are pretty comparable as far as coming out of college.
People were saying Lamar should be a receiver. There were teams that wanted him to work out at receiver.
I'm not even a huge milroe guy.

Milroe would be a great as a RUNNING BACK!!!

Milroe is not a QB in the NFL... if he accepts the change in position, he legit has the talent and ability to be one of the best RBs in the league in a few years.... his vision and speed are unrivaled...

You don't know ball. You don't just change positions like that at this level. People literally said the same thing about Lamar switching to wr.
"He was bad against lsu in that bowl game so Lamar will never be a qb in the nfl"
I'm not even a milroe guy. He could make it in the nfl with work but he threw to many ground balls for me.

not sure why Lamar is being brought up, as he was an infinitely better QB prospect than Milroe... Milroe has many problems with his game, at the next level... mainly his inability to process information fast enough to be effective as a passer....
