You got years left of Ram and Cam Jordan, they are dead weight and eating a ton of money. We need to clear Taysom and Kamara, God bless em. They painted them self into a corner with Lat.

Kamara is going to end up getting a new contract from the saints.

It's sad that the saints finally get an oc who knows how to use taysom in the right way. His body is going to continue breaking down. He is lighter than years past.

Trade a 2nd for one of the best receivers in football or waste it in the draft?

Not a hard choice. Make the trade.

Olave is a very good player, but what they paid for him was absurd and he has yet to justify it. So I would not use a guy who is at best a top 30 WR (and realistically at best a #2 in the offense) costing 2 1st rounders and multiple other picks as justification for not spending a single second rounder on a guy like Adams.

I agree, and said when we made the trade we gave up too much. But at least he’s a valuable player and worth a first round pick.

That being said, a dominate receiver is not needed to win the superbowl. Chiefs haven’t had crap at receiver the last two years and won it. Usually the best receivers in the league don’t either.,

We just need another receiver similar to Olave with a different type skill set.
I like Brian Thomas and he would have been a good fit, but we were desperate for a tackle. Someone like tee Higgins would go great with Olave.

You mean like not letting TE get loose for 61 yards on 3rd and 16 or committing PI on a last minute drive. Do tell how a WR prevents that?

He helps by scoring more points so the defense isn’t in those scenarios at the end of games

They had rashee rice and kelce. Kelce is a receiver.
Rice is pretty damn good.

I agree you don't have to have a davante adams to win the super bowl. You just need to have a good offense and defense. Win the turnover battle.

The raiders aren’t getting a 2 unless they eat a lot of Adams’ salary. More likely a 3 is what he’ll fetch.

I’d love to have Adams but the timing isn’t right.

They who?

The Saints aren’t in a cap position to rework his deal.

And then when he starts throwing fits on the field and sidelines, what then? If he doesn't get the ball, he'll start becoming a problem more than any type of solution. Waste of a pickup.

The Chiefs defense has been so stout and they just find different ways to win each week it seems like.

They aren't interested in blowing anybody out.

Not often you have a guy with his talent wanting to come to NO. You gotta see if you can make a deal.

This always cracks me up. Some player is available, and all the Cap Gurus in here say there is no way to get it done, that Saints can’t afford him, or that he isn’t worth whatever compensation, like it’s your money or like you have clue about any the potential negotiations taking place!

We have nothing to trade for a guy that is not super young. Any trade would be wayy too penal and set the Saints back for years. It aint like we got a window with Rogers...we have Carr. No guarantee we utilize Adams in a manner that makes that a good investment.

It's not calculus.

If you think the Saints can do it, and that doing it makes sense, please lay it out.

I’m not a cap guru nor claim to be one. All I know is that if Loomis wants to make it work, he will make it work. Just like he has done for years.

It’s not very hard to come up with a scenario when Adams fits

A combination of extensions and void years for Adams and others. If the raiders eat some of the money owed this year, it’s even easier

It seems as though you don't even want to think about it.

Next year's salary for him is 34M.

The Saints are going to enter next year's offseason 80M over the cap and most of the high paid players will cost as much to cut as their salary.

I think you are going to see several post June 1 cuts just to get to the cap.

We couldn't fit him this year either. So, unless you can convince LV to convert his salary to a bonus and eat that cap, you can't afford him this year either.

...that makes sense.

We are in a big hole already for next year.
